Is coffee OK?
Salt? Come on now. My only regret is not jumping in sooner. I only WISH I had gotten to know this group before surgery. And what do I say about coffeeeeeeeee? My first meal after surgery was coffee (surgeon's order once I told him I wanted it). Nothing finer than walkin the long halls with the fine babe nurses, the narcotics, and the coffee. Yesireee. Just try to take my joe away...I dare ya.
omg- a person who has the same thoughts as I do. I am just starting the WLS process at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. When the weather ever starts to get warm. I'd love to come to a coffee clutch to talk to others who are having or had the surgery- It is a very scary process, but I realize I have to do it. I am from Winona, Mn.
Here's the way I look at it - I gave up my beloved soda forever. I gave up sweet drinks, juices (once in a while I buy Weigh****chers light OJ) and the like so I don't feel a bit guilty having my daily coffee. I drink it with Splenda and Sugar Free Creamer. As long as I am getting my 8 glasses of water daily, I drink my 2 to 3 cups of coffee happily and without guilt.
