Mom's closet shopping

I went up to my parent's for the weekend after NB coffee on Saturday and I came home with 7 or 8 new shirts and a new pair of jeans.  Right now I am the same size as my mom (that hasn't happened in 9 years) and am actually a little smaller than her so she gave me a pair of jeans that are too tight on her and then pulled out all of the short sleeved shirts that she had bought but never really wears.  I asked her if she was okay with me taking them all and she said "Sure just bring them back when your done with them."  I am so happy because I am kind of low on summer/spring shirts.  Unfortunately the next size of clothes I will be back to shopping in thrift stores, but hey it was nice to have one size I didn't have to go out and shop a lot for.

Overall I had a great weekend with my parents.  Saturday afternoon we spent outside enjoying the beautiful weather as we split & stacked wood for next winter it was a really good workout except for the pinching my fingers between two pieces of wood ( I now have a finger with brken blood vessels that will probably bruise in the next few days).  I hope everyone else was able to get out and enjoy the lovely spring weather yesterday!

Congrats on the clothes Nikki.... I raided my mom's closet a couple months ago too, then I raided my sister's "skinny" clothes boxes.  I'm hoping to get some things at swapkins.  It's so expensive to keep buying clothes, even at thrift stores, especially when you wear them for such a short period of time. It was great seeing you again yesterday.  Sounds like you had quite the workout.  I wish I had been able to get in more exercise this weekend. Have a great week, Debi

Good for you, Nicole!!!  It was a beautiful day!  I almost regret spending my drive home shopping here & there... I DID go to Gap, and I DID try on some 18's, but they were a bit too short - and they don't have talls in 18's, so I passed!  But DANG they looked good on my pooper!  (I even took a picture with my phone in the mirror... HA!)  I DID get home with a pair of cargo capri's in 18's, tho  -  now  we just need warmer weather so I can WEAR THEM!!!  WOO HOO!!!  YAY US!!!

HIJACK.... Hey Darla!!  YAY for you!!! 18's!!!  You have to post the behind shot!!  I knew you'd fit in the 18's.  Doesn't it feel great to buy clothes in normal sizes at normal stores! Debi

Debi, baby, this is just for you -  I'm wearing 18's at work today!!!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE my cheapo Faded Glory bootcut jeans in 20 tall!  So I bought 18 talls about 6 weeks ago for $9.97, and then a couple of weeks ago I saw they had a pair of 16 talls on a clearance rack for $6 !!   So I'm set for quite a while - and frankly, even though I can see 16 on the horizon, if I never see 14's, I'll STILL be just giddy!!  To think a year ago I was wearing 32's.....

Darla dear, I am so proud of you.  And getting them on sale, plus getting a size smaller even cheaper - a woman after my own heart!!!  I love the sales racks and anytime I can get a bargain, I'm thrilled! How did it feel to wear the 18's today?????  Did you feel extra good today????  You should have!  I bet you look great in them!  And no more droopy drawers, pulling up your pants all the time!  It's so hard to believe that you were a 32 last year now an 18.  It's just amazing how this tool helps us!!! Hope to see you again soon, Debi

I cant honestly remember what it feels like to fit into "normal" clothes. It wasnt even that long ago. When I got pregnant with my twins I was in a 16-18. But my tummy grew so fast I was wearing streachy pants from my first trimester till now. I used to be a bit of a blue jeans junkie. I loved them in every style. I really miss being able to wear them. My neighbor cleaned out her closet and gave me all her old jeans ranging in size from 12 to 18. There so cute! I look at them now and then. I can't wait to ware them!

I know what you mean... I am a total jeans *****  Rarely wear anything else, except to church & such.  But it wasn't so long ago - oh hell, it was quite a while ago, my daughter is 15! - I think I wore stretchy pull-up stirrup pants for damn near 5 years, from mid-first pregnancy until well after my son was born almost 12 years ago.  Then I found jeans that I could actually wear, and haven't looked back.  Except to look at the ginormous jeans I've since left behind...   YOU WILL GET THERE!!!

I hope so! I just miss the feeling of pulling on a pair of *wow these make my butt look good* jeans, walking out of the bathroom and my husband saying "mmmmm Que ricco culo"  I'm told that means something good about my butt in spanish....lol

Nikki what a good deal for you. Congrats on your ever melting body. Won't be long and you will be much smaller then your mom. That will feel pretty great huh? I shop thrift stores and clearence racks. I refuse to pay  for regular priced jeans...we just go to smaller sizes too quickly to invest in them. But then this is just my opinion. It was so good to see you in North Branch on Saturday!! That was a really awesome time. Mary P. is a great speaker and very knowledgeable person. I hope she comes back again sometime. Hugs......connie d
