Dr. Jones, Tom Jones...

For all of you who had Dr. Jones at Park Nicollet, can you tell me how you liked him? Also, after you first met him (same day you scheduled your surgery), how far out was it? A month? Two months? THANKS!!!!!

I had Dr. Jones - he is a very focused man.  He diagnosed a hernia I didn't realize I had at my first meeting - said he'd take a look at it, and if it was okay he'd wait to fix it until I'd lost my weight - then he could do a little nip & tuck at the same time!   My surgery was scheduled for 22 days after that appointment. Unfortunately, my hernia was a MESS of adhesions, and my appendix had wiggled in there and become adhesed as well, so he had to open me up, fix it all, close me up, THEN do my lap RNY!  So I got a three-fer.  But I only spent one extra night (3, total) in the hospital.  He's very good at what he does.

Dr. Jones did my RNY about 7wks ago and I agree with all that Darla said. I was scheduled for about 2 months out from my meeting with him but received a call and was pushed up a month due to a schedule opening (Thank you God).  I felt totally comfortable with him and would highly recommend him. I had Dr.Jones as well and everything went a okay. I was scheduled about 5 weeks after we met.

Dr. Jones does not have a super personable bedside manner but he is nice and will be honest with you about surgery and on what to expect.  He does what he does very well and has been doing it a long time - I think 17 years or longer..and longer than the other surgeons at PNC.  If I were to do it all over again, I'd choose him again in a heartbeat. Oh, and as far as the process, I got insurance approval on April 21, 2007, had my meeting with Dr. Jones on May 2 and got my surgery date of May 30th at that time. Michelle

I had Dr. Jones. I think he is fabulous. Although, I have met Dr. Wetherille (sp?) for a seperate problem and think he is great as well. I hear Dr. Chuck is good too; but have never met him personally. Anyway, Dr. Jones did a fabulous job. He always does. I'm not sure about the wait. I saw him in December 2006 and then had surgery Feb 2007. It was my choice to wait that long.  Good luck! Lori

I had Dr. Jones and thought he was terrific! I'd choose him again in a heartbeat! I had no complications and healed nicely. I'd recommend him.
