Greetings from northern Iowa, Was wondering if anyone on here has used Dr. Lee in Blue Earth and what they felt about their experience with him. Went to one of his seminars last night in Clear Lake Iowa. He seems like a great guy but he has only done 20 lapband procedures.
Just over the border in Iowa---
Hi,
I don't know anything about him, but I posted on another board that I go to and asked if anyone over there knows of him. I'll let you know. It's a bit of a concern that he's only done 20 bands, but I think I was my doc's 35th band and all has gone well. As important as the surgery, is the follow-up care. Do they offer any support like nutritional counseling and support groups? Do you get the feeling he really believes in the band? Find out how much he charges for fills and if he does them himself or has a PA do them. I've had the band for about 1-1/2 years and am very happy with the results. If I hear anything about Dr. Lee, I'll let you know. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me. Jean B.

I was going to go to him since I live close, but my insurance at that time would not cover a lap band. There was just a story about him in the Mankato paper about a month or so ago! He really does believe in the lap band. I surely would have stayed with him if insurance would have approved that procedure. Of course, now they approve it, but I was already in the process for the gastric bypass.
Hi,
I heard from a couple of people on the other board about Dr. Lee. They have switched to him for their fills because he is closer to them than coming to the Cities. I guess he was trained by a really good band doctor in Sioux Falls, SD (maybe Dr. O'Brien???) and they feel he is a good doctor and someone who will work with his patients. Good luck with whatever you decide. Jean B.
