Okay for all you people who have had problem with trapped gas. I now realize I should have paid closer attention to those postings. I have such terrible gas pain I cannot straighten up. The only thing I can find at work here is Alka Seltzer. Am I safe to take that 9 months out from surgery? Can anyone recommend anything else that might work quickly? Keep in mind I am at work so do not have much for options here.

Since your at work there isn't many options. I take Gas-X and rub my tummy going from the rib cage down. It has taken me up to 5 hours to get rid of those horrible pains, last time it felt like labor pains. Good luck, Kelly

I am fairly sure it is gas. I feel like I need to ...you know pass...but it hurts too bad to even try. Edi works here too, I am hoping she might have some meds at her desk.

I know I haven't had surgery yet, but I did just experience a very horrible bout of this on Saturday. Tums has an anti-gas/indigestion tablet & if you chew one or two of those, you will start making noises from both ends. It will relieve some of the pressure. Keep walking around as much as you can.

Do they have baking soda around? I'm not sure if that carbonates when mixed with water, but it may be a little gentler than the Alka Seltzer. And of course, keep an eye on this and let at least one other person there know how you are feeling so that if it's something more serious, someone has an idea.

I always liked the Gas-X strips.  Hope you feel better soon!

I haven't been through the surgery yet but can relate to your issue. I was told to lay on my right side. I know you are at work but maybe if there is a private place to go it might be worth a try. Hope you are better real soon.

Another vote for Gas-X. I had a C-section a few months ago and you know how gassy you get after ANY surgery. It works wonders. They also have extra strength, which is what I used. Good luck and hope you feel better!
