WAY OT - Need your creative help

Most of you know that I'm the cat coordinator of a local humane society. We don't have a shelter and must find fosters for all of our cats and dogs. All we require our fosters to do is bring the animals every other Sunday to PetSmart for our adoption booth and give them LOTS of love and a temporary home. We provide all vet care, food and litter. That's it!  My problem is that we have way more cats and dogs than we do foster homes. It's becoming kitten and puppy season and we can't take in these poor animals because we don't have any foster homes for them. We currently advertise our need of foster homes on Craigslist and we have a website: www.gadsdenhumane.org - does anyone have other ideas of how to find more foster homes? There have to be people out there willing to love an animal - as it doesn't cost them anything! I know you guys are super creative and would appreciate any and all ideas you can come up with!  I love you all! Farrah farrahwanner at comcast . net

I have a LiveJournal account and there are lots of communities for cat/dog lovers.  I'm guessing MySpace and other blog sites do too.  Maybe you could try them?

Oh Farrah...!!  I wished I lived on over there in Talli!!  I would love to foster dogs all day long!!  Cant do cats, wish I could but I have allergies..  I wish you all the best in find our fur babies homes!

lol I was already to say something about maybe being able to help with a cat or two and then realized you were in FL  hehe A couple things you could try are posting in Petco etc...  Our walmart has a pet listing area that perhaps they would let you post to.  Get something up in the local vet offices.  I think you may have better luck finding folks out in the physical world rather than cyber...  but that's just me  :) We already foster for Eskie Rescuers and have our own rescue, Up North.  Currently we have 31 dogs and 5 cats... with 11 of those dogs being ours  :)  And all the cats are ours...  lol  yeah crazy. Just a thought you could contact the senior centers and see if there are any seniors that would be willing to help making sure the seniors knew they would be out no money of there own. Bet you would a few to say yes. Janie
