Strange pain/sensation on left side? Anyone had this?

I'm going to call my physician today for sure, but wanted to know if anyone has experienced this or has any ideas.  I have this strange pain on the left side of my abdomen kind of near the bottom of my ribcage.  It's been bothering me for a while, but seems to have gotten worse.  I think it might be in the general vicinity of where my gallbladder USED to be, but I don't really know.  The pain is kind of like a sensation sometimes, and kind of like an ache sometimes.  I catch myself trying to rub the area all the time, but I can't really do that because whatever it is is under my ribcage.  I will call the doc today for sure, but wanted to know if anyone has had this after WLS.  Thanks!

Your gallbladder would have been on the right side. This sounds like it could be an ulcer. Start yourself up on some Prilosec and get into your Dr asap.

Please spay and neuter your pets!

Renee, what did your doc say?  I have had this kind of pain on and off for a while, I am having more test next week, but everything so far has been inconclusive

Well, thankfully it was nothing serious.  I called my surgeon's office first, and they said it sounded like a muscle issue, so I should see my primary care physician.  I got in to my PCP on Friday and they thought it was my kidneys - an infection or stones.  I went through a bunch of tests, and my kidneys are normal.  So, by process of elimination they determined it must be a muscular issue (exactly what my physician's office said.)  I think that may be the case because I've been having some problems on my left side because of carrying heavy purses.  So, they gave me a prescription for a muscle relaxer and offered physical therapy.  I'm going to try to work it out on my own with exercises, not carrying a big purse, and see how that goes.  I will take the muscle relaxer at night.  Thanks!
