need help with food choices
I have a nut mixture that I SPICE up a bit "zippy" so I don't over-indulge. I also like the jerky option, and just trid some buffalo and thought it was yummy and has less fat than the beef jerky does. Another option I use is shrimp and immitation crab (which is really a processed whitefish) so it is high protein and lowfat. I used the frozen medium size shrimp and dip it cold into a bit of ****tail sauce. I also found some BBQ pulled pork and eat it with multigrain tostitos or in a wheat tortilla wrap with a little LF cheese.
I do eat a bit of pasta, rice, and stuffing, but I mix it with my protein and veggies (kind of a mini caserole). That way i fulfil my craving while not going overboard. Now, if I could just figure out somethiong to do with my love of chocolate. I don't really dump either and if I don't control it I could eat WAY too much of it. That's why this is a lifelong journey and not a race. Good luck and know you are not alone in this struggle. I am right there in the boat with you!

Try some "Fresh and Lean Crepes". You can stuff them with tons of different things, but I fill them with ricotta, FF cool whip and FF Yogurt. Heres the recipe: 1/4 c nonfat cottage cheese 2 T plain oatmeal 6 egg whites vanilla to taste packet of splenda cinnamon (optional) Blend in a blender for 30 secs. Put 1/3 c. in a pan at a time (swirl batter in pan to coat evenly). Cook on both sides. It makes a dozen, so I freeze the extra crepes in baggies and pop them in the microwave to reheat. I've also filled them with ricotta and covered them with SF pasta sauce. I think it was Linda who developed a really good meatball - I have one or two of them with the pasta sauce. I also make the cottage cheese pancakes and top them with yogurt (and SF blueberry syrup).
Have you tried lite turkey sausage? It's amazingly good. I have it with a little lite wasabi mayo.
Pancakes 1/2 c oatmeal 1/4 c. cottage cheese 2 eggs vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg to taste Blend in blender until smooth.
Again - I freeze leftovers and nuke 'em. My little trick for smoother batter is to grind the oatmeal separately first and then add everything else. They aren't light and fluffy - but man they are good!
