need help with food choices

ok, I am a year and a half post op and can tolerate some sugar (more than I would like)  which leans me toward bad choices.  I cant really eat any beef or pork except for ground beef.  My protein sources have been mostly chicken, tuna and beans.  I can tolerate some pasta and crackers but I know I shouldnt be eating them, darn it!  I think I have been eating way too many carbs.  My weight has been stuck for probably 9 months and I have been just maintaining.  I cant wait for the weather to get nice so I can get out and walk!!  I need some help with some ideas on how to bring more protein in and less carbs.  The key is to be prepared, but carbs have always always been my comfort food and now that I can tolerate more variety, I find myself wanting them and reaching for them.  I didnt take this drastic step only to fail!  I am scared that I will gain or not ever lose any more!  190 is not where I wanted to end up, although I know it is a lot better than where I started!!  I am greatful for this tool and need some help with some meal and snack ideas!!! Anyone have any good hints??? THANKS!!

What I found to be a good source of protein and some what easy to take when I'm on the go are hard boil eggs and cottage cheese   I'm more of a newbie but I've already noticed the weeks I don't do well on my protein I don't lose any weight.   Those darn carbs are going to be the enemy for the rest of my life!

thanks Kathy!   I will make up some hard boiled eggs and get some cottage cheese.  I forgot about the cottage cheese.  the only problem with the eggs is that I dont really care for them alone, but they are really good on a saltine with lots of salt & pepper, DARN CARBS, is right! THANKS, I will give that a try.

I'm dealing with the same issue....but I am boiling eggs right now.  I usually take one to work or eat them in the car on the way to work.  And string cheese is good, but my nut said that the Light Sargento is the way to go.  Because the others have too much fat in them??  IDK  We like them better anyway.  I am also considering those baked cheese things....Just cheese...I think they are called.  VERY yummy and crunchy like a cracker, but good for you.

Ok, now I have to try those "just cheese" things.  I have heard others talk about them and I think they said they get them at trader joes??  I think you can order them online too, I'll check it out.  If you have to buy a lot, do you want to go halfs???
