Pain Meds

What do you all use for pain meds?  I went to take the Liquid Tylenol and could not, it is way to syrupy...ugh!  Oh man!   So, I can take my roxaset again, but I'll be ready for less of a pain med. tomorrow.  Tylenol only comes in children's chewable, doesn't it?

I take Tylenol extra strength e-z tabs.  I starting a taking this at 1 week out of surgery. When I went in for my follow up appointment I had such a bad headache. They said that Tylenol would be fine. I would suggest perhaps asking if you can take Tylenol this early out of surgery. Also I take two pills but I take some time in between the pills to allow them to go down.  So glad to see you posting!!

Personally if you just had surgery yesterday - I'd stick with the roxaset for a few days.  If you don't think you need a full dose...take 1/2 or a 1/4 dose.  Check with PNC on alternatives.

Oh ya! That's what I did- I cut them in half and made them last awhile. About the time they were gone, so was the pain. . . I still use GAS-X for that shoulder pain, but it's nearly gone.  So, you didn't like the syrupy Tylenol, eh? Here I thought it was kind of good. I thought I was cheating, it was so sweet.

I used the roxicet exclusively for the first couple of days.  Then I only used it at bedtime or sometimes in the late afternoon and at bedtime.  They have children's meltaways.  I haven't tried those...maybe too much sugar I don't know.  But I would think that Walgreens would have the adult liquid tylenol when you're ready.  But I would just stick with the Roxicet for now.  JMHO! The liquid tylenol I am taking says tylenol for sore throats - but pharmacist said it is really only tylenol.  It doesnt' taste the greatest - but not full of sugar like the kids tylenol.

Some others have recommended the kids tylenol meltaways - but you need to take like 5-6 of them.

Good luck. Linda

Up here in the frozen tundra.....I was told to use the children's chewable.   Just make sure you read the box...I can't remember but you have to take a few of them so it's not cheap but they did work.

Tylenol comes in chewable, not only kids, for adults too, my hubby got me some.  The Liquid Tylenol took me about 4 mintues to drink 2 ounces, but I got it down. Good luck,  in the next day or 2 you shouldnt need much.  I only took tylenol twice, and my pain meds twice.  I still have most of them left.  You are doing great, no need to be uncomfy, try the tylenol.
