Busy Weekend In Oz

Saturday we spent at the Blue Mountains which was beautiful and intresting, I didn't know they mined coal there in the 1800's.  The only bad part was I got dehydrated and a little sick.  DON'T ever do that!   Sunday we were going to Bondi Beach and missed our turn so we went for a drive that took us to Woollongong and went to a beautiful outlook in a park where we could see a beach below.  So we found our way down to it and had fun exploring.  Monday hubby took the day off for his B-Day/St. Pat's, we went to Bondi Beach then to Sydney.  While in the water at Bondi I talked to a woman next to me, guess what?  She was there from North Dakota!   Got tid bits but not much time so here's a few. Since 1986 housing costs have gone up 400% and income 120%.  Australia is now the most expensive english speaking place to live.   We have the VFW they have the RSL (Returning Service League). They have a serious problem they are trying to deal with concerning young people binge drinking. A windshield is a windscreen. Diapers are nappys. Strollers are prams. Retired people are called pensioners and have $269.00 a week to live on (how I don't know). To boost the Australian population they give the family a $500.00 baby bonus when a child is born. You don't stand in line, you que up (que spelled queue). A train car is a carriage, a shopping cart is a trolley. The fall fashion here is black, gray and/or silver.  Shoes are boots or heels that look like ankle boots with opaque tights or tights with sparkle. The new fashion accessory is Spanx but they call them "Magic Knickers".
