(((Peach))) You know I'm going to ask the questions, so here it goes: what was their reason? Because DS is "investigational" or what? You know as well as I do that the first time through insurance with a DS is often times denied, but give them that first appeal letter and they're left speechless and have no choice but to approve you. I'm PM'ing you the info to the Mpls. lawyer that is handling appeals for bariatric patients. Hang tough doll! Your approval WILL come!!! Just keep the faith! Oh and good news because I'm pretty sure that on an appeal, they can only take up to 10 or 14 days to respond vs. 30. Tammy could verify that.

they DO cover the DS - it had something to do with my co-morbs....I need to wait for the letter to get the full info....I've already contacted Tammy and Danette  - but until I have my letter, I wait....I hope it comes by Thursday...they just made the decision today :(

It has been a long, hard road for you, hasn't it.  Sorry to hear about this, but hang in there.  Put up a good fight, and int he end all will happen as it should.
