Well, I am six months out, have lost 106 pounds and still dont see it much.  I am told I look very different but I still see the "fat" Kathi instead of the new and improved.  I have been trying to reach out to a friend but with our schedules it just doesnt seem to work out.  So, here I am, on the great OH looking for a little support and comfort.  I have been feeling really down and out for the past couple of weeks.  I feel like I am losing a few friends and not sure where to go.  HELP!!

Hi Kathi,  You look amazing and I know in our heads it's hard to see the change sometimes but you do really look amazing...... you have come so far in such a short period.  You have been so busy lately as everyone else it's hard to get together but one of these days we will get together.  Hang in there honey things will get better........and remember you are doing an amazing job... Love ya marsha

HOLY MOLY!!  You lost 106 #s in six months!!  That's awesome!!  Be proud of your success! As far as feeling down and out, remember that fat stores hormones and when you lose fat, all those hormones run absolutely amuck!! The weather is not helping either.  I'm not sure where exactly you live, but getting to those coffee meetings and finding folks who are in same boat really is a great support system. You will be welcomed with open arms! Try getting some sunshine too.  Natural vitamin D will help with the blahs, and exercising will release some endorphins--the 'feel good' hormones. Sue, Thank you for the advice.  I do take vitamin d per my dr.  He said that it is good to take it in the winter.  I hope this is just a phase and passes soon.

Keep in mind that you should have blood work done about every six months (or more, according to your doc) to see where your levels are. Even with taking vitamins and minerals, your levels might be low, as malabsorption can be a problem depending on what WLS you had done.  I am taking 2000 IU of Vitamin D, and even with that, my blood level of D was low. Also, iron levels can be a problem if you are menstruating. Just something to keep in mind~ I hope you're feeling better, Sweetie!  ((HUG)) **SUE**

You have done soooooo AWESOME.  I know that most of us deal with the blues.  The weather right now certainly does NOT help....I know that Sandie goes tanning to get the Vitamin D (which is what we lack in MN during winter that causes the blues).  It is hard to adjust to seeing yourself differently.  Are you on any AD's?  They have helped me lately more so than ever.  PM me if you ever wanna just talk.  I'm always here.

I'm sorry you are feeling blue. This winter weather really has everyone down. You look great by the way. Maybe the girl's overnight will help you recharge. I wish I could go but have family plans that I can't break. Hang in there we are all here for you.

I know exactly what you are going through because I am still going through it too.  We have lost about the same amount of weight and I too still look at myself in the mirror and I think I look "fat". I posted a link for this book before but I'll throw it up again. http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Body-Has-a-Mind-of-Its-Own/ Sandra-Blakeslee/e/9781400064694/?itm=2 I'm almost done reading it and if you want I will borrow it to you when I get back from vacation.   As sad as it is, it is actually normal to feel this way.  Your brain needs to catch up to your visual image of yourself.   I know it's hard but try to remember that the scale and your pants size don't lie and no matter what the mirror says you are doing terrific. YOU ROCK!
