Stress, horrible eating and weight loss - oh my!
Shame on me - I have been stress eating. I was eating a lot of "slider" food because my stomach was hurting from work-related stress. A change of OTC meds, and the stomach problem cleared up - but I was still eating badly. I went a month without weighing myself. Last Sunday I hopped on and saw no weight loss (or gain). But this morning I hopped on and found I had lost 8 pounds! How the heck did that happen when I've been eating so poorly? But I am getting back to basics NOW!!! I surely don't want my 8 pound loss to end up an 8 pound gain.
Way, way off topic - I adopted a cat last weekend. He got sick the day I brought him home, so I took him to the vet on Monday...URI. Even with taking antibiotics, he progressively got sicker and when I came home from work tonight, he looked like death warmed over (poor little guy). I called the humane society and they told me I should bring him back. So I did. Now I want to stress eat again.
Sorry to hear about your cat...that is so sad.
Please don't let stress have the upper hand here. Eventually the weight will catch up with you and it will be harder then ever to lose. Glad to hear you are trying to get back on track. Remember those eating habits were your downfall before, don't give in to it again. You have come too far to sabotasge yourself now. Good luck!!

Hey Connie....look at you - 2 lbs from goal already.
I am trying my hardest not to let my old habits creep back into my life. But I get so much inspiration from people like you. That's why I keep reading and posting (infrequent as it may be). Instead of stress eating, I made myself some hamburger bean casserole. Gotta keep taking this one day at a time I guess.
They couldn't guarantee I'd get him back, but they told me to check their website daily. I will definitely try to get him back. But if I can't for some reason, I will still go back and adopt another homeless pet. I highly respect the Humane Society and am thrilled to hear you are affiliated with them. Way to go, Farrah!
Thank you! I absolutely adore working with all our animals. Our Humane Society doesn't have a facility - so all our animals (about 80 or so in our program) are in foster homes. I've started fostering also and it's totally amazing.
Good luck with the stress eating - I won't give any advice because I go through it too.
Please spay and neuter your pets!

I am so sorry about your kitty, I hope he/she is better soon. I just adopted a kitten from the humane society last weekend too and he hasn't quite got the litter box thing down but he is making progress. He is only 7 weeks old and I don't know what kind of teacher his mom was. They are aour our pals and it is awful when they are not doing well. I can understand the stress eating but the good thing is you realized what you were doing and got right back on the horse!
Good for you and hang in there!

Yay you for adopting the kitty and getting it the help it needs. I hope they'll be able to make it better so you can bring him home again!
And Yay you for recognizing your stress eating! It's hard, that's for sure. But when you realize you are reaching for somthing less than healthy, and recognize that you're doing it because of stress, just ask yourself - "How, exactly, is eating this going to help my situation?" Chances are, you won't have a good answer. Don't make the stressful situation worse by letting it cause you further stress in your eating habits! YAY on the 8 lbs down! remind yourself how good it felt to see that number on the scale, and let it motivate you!!!
