A decent steak
I know we all enjoy high protein food items so I thought I'd share about this find.
I purchased a box of frozen Sommer's Organic Ribeye Steaks (2 per box) at Cub. Had one for dinner and it was thin, tender, and very juicy. I didn't have a lot of time so I just dry pan fried it on a low heat. Even using this cooking method, it was still moist and tender.
A little pricey perhaps (I think it was about $10 - $15 per box) but I have added this to my post op shopping list because it was that good and obviously after surgery those 2 steaks will be 4 - 6 meals or more for me.
Here's the stats:
1 steak = 6 oz.
290 calories
15g - fat
2g - carbs
37g - protein
Oh yeah... we had ribeye on the grill tonight, and it was HEAVEN!!! Bailey and I split one, and I shared nearly half of my half with Rich (he kinda scorched his porterhouse...) but we also had some shrimp and mushrooms, and I even ate some cubed potatos with onions, cooked on the grill in foil.
YUMM-OH!!! Steaks have worked for me ever since I've been on full food - just have to chew the dickens out of it, but man, a good steak is just so yummy!
