still bringing up everything I eat... help

Hi everyone... I am 4 weeks out from rny surgery and I am still not able to manage any thing other than liquid. Today I had some broth and brought that up too...any suggestions would be appreciated

You need to call your surgeon ASAP!!!! If you can't even keep liquids down, dehydration can set in quickly!!!  Besides this if you can't eat food at all and your 4 weeks out, you need to get back in to see your surgeron ASAP.  You may have a stricture, ot something else going on.  This is the only advice I can give you, CALL YOUR SURGEON!!!!!!

Hi Lucy... I know I should know this but what exactly is a stricture?  I can keep down liquids mostly, well just the Carnation breakfast drink and crystal light...  thanks for the info

Oh no!  Call Dr Medlin right away!  Let us know what he says! If you have to come down here, you can stay with me if need be!

Yep!  CALL SURGEON!!  Also, if you are now uping liquids you might just want to go to Urgent Care to get liquids(IV) to prevent dehydration.  There should be a help number on your release from hospital papers!  CALL!!!  Keep us posted!  Prayers being said for you!

Yes to everything everyone suggested, but also DEMAND an endoscopy - not just an upper GI.  A stricture is where the intestines and your new pouch join, and sometimes scar tissue form and the opening get restricted.

Everyone is right...see your doctor immediately. You don't want to dehyfdrate and this is not normal. Let us know what you find out......good luck. Hugs, connie d
