So I started the liquid diet a few days early, because I still have a few pounds to lose.  I dont even know how many.  Somewhere between 4-6 I imagine. (Surgery is Tuesday).  I was wondering about portions of the clear liquids.  Are we allowed to go hog wild and drink as much liquids as we want...even if it has calories??  Are we supposed to stay within certain calorie guidelines??   Also if anyone has any sample menus or examples of the liquid diet, full liquid diet, pureed diet and soft diet...that would be great. Lastly...if I get desperate...how can I get these last few pounds off?  I have lost 25 lbs already and am struggling with these last few.  I MUST have them off by Tuesday.  Any ideas on laxatives?  Colon cleanses??  Thanks!!

My suggestion would be to stick to 4-5 protein drinks/day (boost, Slim Fast, whatever you've been doing), then supplement with low- or calorie free drinks like water, Crystal Lite, any of those many powdered drink mixes that are out there now.  Or Fuze - that stuff, the SLENDERIZE versions, are AWESOME!  And often $1/bottle on special.  SF jello, popsicles, whatever else you feel the need to have to avoid solid food! GOOD LUCK TO YOU, NAOMI!!!

I did a protein shake every 3 hours.  In between, if I got hungry, I had broth from Mrs. Grass soup, jello, etc.  Drank water or flavored water all day long too.  If you stick to low calorie liquids you'll do fine with the final pounds.  Relax -- it will be okay.  Don't have your weekend filled with thoughts of doomed surgery -- it's going to be a nice weekend.  Get out and take a long walk, stick to the liquids, and get ready to rumble!!!!   XXOO

Hey Sweetie!  How many pounds are we talking?  If it's only a few I wouldn't worry until Sun.  I would also call and ask your office what a safe way to go about that would be......just to be safe!

I think that the protein drinks are the way to go. Have 3 a day and then just broth, SF Jello and SF popscicles...the weight will fall off!! My doctor recomended Boost High Protein...it worked and I never felt hungry. You will make it......you can easily lose ten pounds following this plan. No sugar free pop...only water flavored with crytal light or something similair. No juice either. Sugar free only and no carbination. Good luck.....hugs.....connie d
