I think my hair is straightening itself.

Did I spell that right?  Lately I've noticed that my hair hasn't had any oomf on top, so when I decided to take some pics this last weekend, I played with the curling iron and the blowdryer, and tried all kinds of things to get some lift up top.  Well, I struggled a lot with it, and finally went with good enough.  Now, the last day or so, I've been paying closer attention to my hair's behavior, and thinking back over the last several weeks, there has been a definite trend for the new growth to not have any lift.  I'm still poofy on the sides and back, but where the shorter layers are on top, there's nothing, and it actually seems to ignore all the products and tools I've tried.  I used to be able to do quick scrunching with my finger and the blowdryer to get lots of volume on top.   Anybody else experiencing anything like this?  My hair is naturally curly, or became naturally curly in my late teens (the last perm I got just never went away, though I had always been wavy), so I suppose it's possible that it could spontaniously straighten itself.  I just wasn't expecting it.  I've had a very slight increase in hair loss, but nothing to talk about really.   I suppose this is my big WLS side affect?  If I was suffering from build-up, all my hair would be drooping, right?  And it would feel icky? 

Hey Hon!  I have noticed with my own hair changes OTHER than the fall out.  My co-workers say that the texture has changed also and I agree.  It wouldn't surprise me if the changes in hormones and your body would have a reaction that would straighten your hair in areas.  But as far as the build up issue, a quick Malibu treatment takes care of that and would be good for your hair anyway! HUGS!

I think it can be pretty common with drastic changes in your body.  I know a woman who had graying straight hair, and then after chemo it came back in curly and with no gray.  :-)

I have heard alo about people whose hair has come back from straight to curly......I imagine it could go the opisite way too.  Other then Hair loss my hair is about the same ......straight!! Hugs, connie d
