"Do unto others as you'd have done to you"~ The Golden Rule to Live by!
You are what you EAT and WHO you hang out with! Choices=Outcome~ what's YOUR choice??
I'm not perfect but I am going to die trying!!!
You are all TOO FUNNY!
Okay - first things first, Amy - I didn't get a text this morning? Unless you sent it AFTER I got to work - 'cuz I don't have service in this building. Too much metal. It'll ring me when I get outside.
Second, I DID get to the support meeting last night - BarbK was the one who didn't make it.
Third? I'm not hurt! And I CAN walk (or should I say "mosey"?) to my computer!!!
I was really kinda looking forward to the wishbone / rode-hard-put-away-wet rubber-leg feeling when I got off the nice horsie, but NOPE! The legs & everything felt FINE! Although I have been noticing a slight "bruised" feeling today, roughly where the butt bones met the saddle. Apparently, I have a lot less padding than I did back in the day - WHO'DA THUNK???!!!
So - the day was FABULOUS!!!! There were only 8 kids. We had to give the instructor some idea of how much experience we've had, and after quizzing me quickly, she decided to put me on a gorgeous Paso Fino buckskin mare named Tigre! (I was SURE I'd get put on Pierre, their half-draft half-quarter horse behemouth, but NOPE! Just a normal sized mare!) She was a spirited horse, and I LOVED HER!!! I haven't had a chance to download the pictures yet, but I do have a few!
First we groomed our horses (mental note to self - horsies shed REALLY BAD in the spring time. Next time, wear something OTHER THAN polar fleece...), then walked 'em from the barn to the arena. They use a set of stairs for EVERYONE to mount their horse because it's easier on the horse's spines, so I didn't even have to fret over whether or not my left knee was up to the job! I was one of the first up, so I got to ride her around the arena for a spell while the others got on their horses and got a quickie lesson on reins, stopping, going, etc.
The nervous kids stayed in the arena, the rest of us went out on a trail ride. Well, more of a dirt-road ride. Trails were too snowy/icy yet. I was just in a state of glory, let me tell you! Beautiful day, horses, being with Bailey... horses, ** sigh ** it was WONDERFUL!!! If there was ANY downer to it, the gal who led our trail ride was something of a know-it-all windbag who didn't shut up for ONE MINUTE! And we really didn't get to do any running, even tho the road conditions were perfect for it - she kind of treated us like we were all 4 year olds on ponies, hooked up to that merry-go-round contraption at a fair. Tigre wanted to MOVE, and I WANTED her to be able to, but other than holding her back a few times and playing catch-up, we walked. But it was STILL HORSIE HEAVEN!
And the best part? (GET THIS!!!) I GET TO GO AGAIN TOMORROW!!!! There's another group of kids going Friday, and the teacher didn't have any chaperones, so he asked me to go AGAIN!
uh - YEAH, OKAY!! I GUESS I COULD HELP YOU OUT THERE!!!
WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

Imperfect does not = unsuccessful
You did get my text - probably after work - but I know you got it now 'cuz you messaged me back.
I read Barb's post wrong, my mistake - sorry.
I had no doubt at all that everything went fine, but worried when we didn't hear from you. So sorry, but we love you what can we say?!
I am so happy for you that you had a good experience & get another chance tomorrow. Maybe you'll have a different instructor who will let you get a little more running and trotting in. Have fun!!
