HCMC nutritionist question
I went through the seminar at HCMC and had my first appointment with the nutritionist (I wasn't that thrilled with her) and then missed my follow up appointment for serious reasons. I know they have some sort of rule regarding missing nutritionist appointments pre-op but I forgot what it is. Can anyone tell me? It was at the beginning of Feb and I'm wondering if I can still call and reschedule and if I need to schedule with the same nutritionist.
I have never heard of any rules for NUT, but I didn't miss any so maybe they didn't say anything. I know there are very strict rules re: the Psych appointment. I hope it wasn't Christine that you wern't thrilled with because I thought she was great. Your insurance may have rules beyond what the clinic would. You can always ask to be moved to a new NUT as far as I know. If you call them they will answer all the questions you just asked here.

Christine is the best!!! I have heard other people say their NUT was not the nicest, I dont know what her name was, but I do know it wasnt Christine. I talked to her about the other Nut., she said if people had a problem with the people they had been assigned too, they should ask for another person......I dont know if that will help you or not. When you had to cancel the first appointment, you didnt just make another one? I would say its up to you to set up a new date......so call and try to make a new appointment , and try not to miss any further appointments, that can cause you further delay. I never missed any appointments, but my pych. appointment took forever to get into.......they are way behind right now I guess.....though I dont understand why. Good luck to you!
The only appointment I was *warned* about not missing (as Paul & Theresa also said) was with the psych. - I was told if I missed it, I would have to get another psych on my own (yikes!!). I also go along with the others about Christine. What a cheerleader!! I love her. If she wasn't your nut., and you do go back, ask for her. You won't regret it for a second.
