DENIED AGAIN! (updated again) OMG Im APPROVED!!!

Just heard back.  THEY SAID I AM APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  They gave me the approval number and everything!!!!!  OMG Why are they doing this to me?!?!  They have everything they need.  I meet all of the requirements.  You hear all these horror stories...but you never think it will happen to you this way.  UGH. So last time they said they were missing a letter of medical necessity from my primary care doc.  We DID send it...turns out the fax was smudged...soooo instead of calling and saying...can you please resend that fax...DENIED. NOW, they denied again on Friday, saying I still didnt have a letter of medical necessity AND now they are saying they are missing December in my 6 months of weight loss.  Of course, they sent all that in...so they must be dinking around with me.  I am supposed to have surgery next week.  I highly doubt that will be happening.  The hard part is...that it takes them AT LEAST 3-4 days to process things once we send them the new info.  So even if it isnt what they need...it will take them 3-4 days to deny it.  Then we start over again. So any words of encouragement...your own horror stories...etc.  Would be appreciated.  I am about at my wits end.  EVERYtime I call the insurance, they tell me something different.  It is crazy.   I have been doing this stupid modified liquid diet for over a month now...and stopped losing weight like weeks ago...so I am ready to throw that the F away too.  (Sorry)

So sorry this is happening to you. Have your Doctor's office find out exactly what they need, and then send it overnight with signature required. That way they have to sign for it. Maybe that will help????? Keep your chin up. It will happen. You just have to jump through a few hoops. Kelly

So Sorry you are going thru this!  I KNOW how frustrating a denail can be.  I say fight it with all your might!!  AND I know how hard that is!  Everything happens for a reason.  Hang in there sweetie!!!    HUGS!

Naomi, just for the record who is your insurance? There is now a local law firm starting to take bariatric patients and fight insurance companies. I am going to send you a PM with more info. You will WIN this appeal, I'm positive!

p.s. - what is Ikrammudin's office doing to help you in this process BTW?

Well I finally got through to other "areas" of the insurance company.  They told me that they DO have everything that they have been denying it for.  So...turns out that we never did actually "appeal".  Bridget at Dr I's office thought we did....but we did not...and the insurance company did verify this.  So basically we have no idea why they are denying it.  We keep sending them the info they are saying that they dont have...but the one lady just told me that they DID have everything from the get-go.  So basically she said the best thing to do now is to arrange a Peer to Peer with Dr I and the insurance co Dr.  Well, Dr I isnt available until Wednesday....so who knows.  Bridget at Dr I's office said she will put it on his calendar for Wednesday.  Hopefully that works...but who knows.   Does anyone know what happens when your surgery is delayed because of this?? Do I have to schedule out another 3-4 months or whenever he is available next??? Or do they just plug me in in another week or something?
