Hi All, Sorry I have not posted since Laurie got out of hospital last Friday. Been running around like chicken with my head cut off!! Today Laurie goes into hospital for outpatient procedure to cut 2 inches off her port line. They made it too long and so when they try to draw blood out of the line it "sucks itself to her heart". Not a danger of hurting her but a major pain when needing to draw blood. She should be home by supper and sleep most of the night. Versed and Fentenyl (sp) are her friends. Nemi is with me, mad cuz she is in the pack-n-play. She is really7 having a time with NO and leaving things that she knows she not supposed to touch. But wait, shie IS only 16 months. She had checkup earlier this week and the princess has finally reached 20 lb and 11 oz. She is 29.5 inches tall, grew a whole inch in 6 weeks!!! No wonder she eat like a little piggy. Me, I have finnaly figured out and acknowledged that I am hoarding food. That is step one. Now to figure out what to do about it and how to stop doing it. Maybe I can never go to the grocery store again??? Probably NOT. I can't wait for warmer days to put Nemi in the jogging stroller and walk Wirth Pkwy close to my house. Have a good day all and thank you so much for your well wishes last week. I am sorry I did not get them all responded to but I did read them all. Karen and the cranky princess

Glad Laurie is getting that fixed.   What a pain huh.     Sounds like Nemi and Sadie are really close in size....Sadie is 20 lbs 2 oz and 29.5 inches long.   She's also 16 months old.   She seems so little compared to some others her age but heck as long as they are healthy.   I so hear you on the whole warmer weather.....I can't wait to get out to walk....I think we're getting Sadie a wagon too so she can ride in that sometimes.   Hope things continue to go well for you.

I think Nemi is a week older than Saide, Nemi's b-day is Oct 19th of 06.  I can hardly see the not quite 4 lb, 17.5 in long baby that popped out!!  She is so big and yet so small. Dr is happy with her growth and development all around. Now if I can just get her to take a nap. Have a great day, Karen

Hi Karen~ Boy, you all must be sooooo sick of hospitals!  I hope you don't have too many horror stories. Be sure to take care of yourself.  That must be pretty difficult when your life is so busy--but all the more reason to make sure you do! Here's hoping spring is around the corner! ((HUG)) **SUE**

If I never, ever had to see another hospital again.............. Most of the time the people here at the U of MN are fantastic. sometimes they make mistakes. At least this is a easy fix and won't take too long. Nemi goes home Sat afternoon and I think Marlin and I may go to the car show here in town. We both love looking at neat cars and both drive jeeps. They usually have some really neat jeeps to look at. Have a great weekend and I hope you get your assignment for your internship (I think that is what I read) soon. Karen

I'm glad that everyone is getting better, even if it isn't as smoothly or quickly as we all would like. It sounds like Nemi is doing well, considering her age.  Reminds me just how HUGE Squishy is, since she's now 18 pounds and 27 inches at only 6 months.  (*cough* Bubba*cough*) I do a list when I grocery shop now.  And I make myself stick to the list.  It keeps me honest when I see all the yummy stuff at the store.  Especially the darn bakery area.  You can just ask LindaAnne about me and food porn at Byerlys.

Sounds like Squishy is a real "bundle" of love!! So glad she is healthy and happy. It was great that she has been able to use some of the clothes from Nemi. She was 7 weeks early and only weighed 3 lb 15.5 oz. If I take Marlin to the store with me, I am better off. I still do the stupid and go when hungry, etc.  I think your idea of a list is good, will try to implement that. Squeeze that pretty baby for me and I will squeeze Nemi for you!!  Fair deal??  hehehe Karen

Well, the tech was able to get the line running again so they did not end up cutting her and shortening the line. So, all is well and we hope it stays running. Nemi at home with mommy and I am going to relax.
