May Get-Away?? Anyone interested??

The location this time is Grand Marais---naturalist tourist paradise! A few of the Duluth gals--Kathleen and Michelle--and myself are thinking an early May get-away is in order. We have to find out if the cute little shops are even open for business in early May, as they go into hibernation when the tourists leave town. Who would be interested??  And when--which weekend in early May would be best?  (Just collecting thoughts and ideas now...)

Sue, Maybe??? I'd love to meet more people. I know Mother's Day is the 2nd weekend, so I couldn't that weekend.

Going to the shops would be great, if they are open. When you have more info let me know. I'll see what the hubby has to say. Kelly

You're right--the second weekend has Mother's day.  I guess either the May 3rd weekend or the May 17th weekend? We stand a better chance of having shops to visit the later we go. Watch this board for further notices!

Actually I think any weekend other than memorial day weekend will work for me.   I will ask my hubby if he can ask the guy he works with about when the shops open.   This guy seems to know everything about everywhere.   He used to deliver milk so has been all over.   Ohhh I would soo love to be up there....Any ideas on a place to stay or should we start looking for ideas?

Well, I think the Larsmont Cottages spoiled me!  I did a google of GM and the real neat ones like Cobblestone (really nice but pricey) are booked that month.  We might have to settle for a Best Western. Wanna do google GM and see what you think?  I'm thinking more that the weekend BEFORE your Memorial weekend is the one to do. ((It's Canada's  Victoria Day long weekend. We celebrate the late Queen V.'s birthday.))

Good morning, Oh Mystical One! Isn't this a pleasure--having someone else from Thunder Bay on the MN site!!   This makes me feel even worse for having to back out of a spring get-away!  May and June are too busy and I have too many things going on in WI that I have to go to.  Wah!!   The last one was SOOOO fun!! Where's coffee on Thursday?  I can go!! Have a good day!

Aww shucks. what can you do?  Anyways, May and June are busy times for alot of people. But do keep me in mind, next time the group gets together.
