Naomi, honey, don't give up, don't sabotage your LD, just stay on task.  Lots of people get an automatic denial at first attempt, just stay determined! How much have you lost on the LD anyway? 

Hang in there Honey. Yes, it is true that there have been many a denials on this board that still have had a happy ending. We will keep our fingers crossed for you.

Don't give up!  I was denied the first time.  Be proactive.  I stayed on the insurance co. and made numerious phone calls to check up on them during my appeal process.  They help out the full 30 days they had before the approved me. Kathleen

Details: So I called the day before yesterday and they said it was sent to their doc (CIgna) to be evaluated and I should have a decision in 24-48 hours.  I called back yesterday and that is when they told me it was denied.  They specifically told me the only thing I was missing was medical clearance from my primary care doc...well, I know we sent them that letter...so I asked her to look to see if they had the letter.  Turns out they had it...but it was somehow smudged in the fax and was unreadable.  So I thought...ok...no biggie...just resend that piece.  So we did that.  Today I called again to make sure they got it...now this person told me that we were missing the 6 months of physician supervised weight los...HA...  Are you kidding me?  That SHOULD have been included.  Anyway, I asked to talk to the doctor himself that denied it, so we can find out exactly what we need to send them.  They said my surgeons office can call them and they can try to connect them to the insurance doctor.  So I called Bridget and she said she will call them and try to find out exactly what they need.  Hopefully we have everything...I am pretty sure we do.  I am hoping it is just missing paperwork.  We will see...I will KUP.

OH HOW FRUSTRATING!!  Don't ya just wanna scream!!  Grrrr!  This, to me isn't a denial it's more like THEY don't have it all together and testing you to see how bad you want it!  Keep buggin' them: "did you get all the info you need? , "how long before they decide?"........get them on their toes!  And have your bariatric office bug 'em too!  Best to you HON!!  Love and Hugs!
