.....favorite protein? .....favorite exercise? .....new goal? .....best advice to those who are going to or who have had WLS? FOR ME: 1) Beans.....love the side effects (Comments Darla???) 2) Winter: Gazelle, I feel great after.      Summer: Swimming......ahhhhhhh 3) To keep maintaining my weight, recognize coping methods and          keep them in the good, and to keep folowing the rules! 4) Value yourself by following the rules of WLS: water, protein, vitamins, calcium, B12, eating healthy& exercise.........the rules are for a reason:  to keep you healthy and not to gain what you worked so hard to lose!!

1.  beef jerky!! 2.  I have been really working my arms, I dont like the bat wings!  So anything to do with arms! 3.  To tighten my skin.  I still have about 20lbs to go but I am more worried about my sagging skin. 4.  Dont get discouraged.  This is a long haul.  When things dont feel like they are progressing they probably are and you just dont see it.  And dont be afraid to ask for help!  Thats what this site is all about.

.....favorite protein?  beef jerky!  although the pinto beans in my Chipotle chicken burrito bowl are mighty fine!  (as for the side effects?  Beans - not so much for me.  Milk?  SOMEBODY ROLL DOWN A DAMN WINDOW!!!) .....favorite exercise?  This is something I still don't do enough of.  I have always loved swimming, walking my crazy doggie is fun (and a good upper-body workout, might I add?), and I've done quite a bit of tubing this year!  Which is surprisingly good exercise, considering the fact that you ride both down AND up the hill!  Need to up this tho.  Like biking again when the snow is gone! .....new goal?  to get solidly into size 18 jeans (got one pair I am wearing now, but still mostly 20's) and then work towards 16's! .....best advice to those who are going to or who have had WLS?  Once you come to the conclusion that it is the answer you're looking for, DECIDE to do what you need to do to make it work.  Not just to lose the weight, but to keep it off and maintain your health for the rest of your life!  Don't whine about all the water, just drink it.  Don't complain about the nasty taste of your vitamins, just get 'em in.  Miss your carbs?  Wish you could pig out?  Feel sorry for yourself?  Just do what you know you need to do, and focus on all the GOOD things that come from losing the excess weight!   And forgive yourself for being human and making occasional bad choices, just get back on track ASAP!

.....favorite protein? Chile... hands down. the spicier the better! .....favorite exercise? Yoga... I'm still working out at the gym, but I'm soooo loving yoga too! .....new goal? My current goal is to finally reach the century club... only 13 more pounds to that goal... the next one will be goal weight... however my overall goal from this is to gain health, maintain health, and to go for a run instead of a walk! .....best advice to those who are going to or who have had WLS? I have no idea who said it but I try everyday to live it: "THIS IS A JOURNEY NOT A RACE!!!" Somedays are harder than others to remember that, but I keep plugging away. The other little snack of advise I have would be to get to know yourself along this journey, you WILL change, not just your outward appearance, but the things you like and dislike... the crap you will and won't put up with, your food tastes can change, and of course the things you enjoy may change too once your able to do things that before your WLS  you couldn't.

Hugs ~ Lisa

Favorite protein?   shrimp or beef jerky favorite exercise?   walking new goal?   to exercise more regularly, and to get these last 18lbs off best advice?   Follow the doctor and nut orders.  They don't just say things to make your life miserable, they want you to succeed.  Just take it one day at a time, take all your vitamins, water and protein.  And enjoy the compliments and live your life!  If you are like me, you hid away and let too many years go by, now is the time to laugh, love and live!
