Grand Marais is doable as well.  I've been just itching to get up that way for a weekend.  It's been a while since I've had a chance.  So keep that in mind.  I love that little town. Kathleen

You betcha, hey!   I love GM and it's less than an hour from TBay! It'd have to be before the tourists take over and prices skyrocket!        (Of course, nuthin' is open when the tourists aren't there...)

We might have to see about the beginning of May.  I have to do a road trip the begining of June to Marquette, Michigan for college orientation with my daughter.  That's a 4 day trip.  Hope we can stand each other for that many days in a row!!!!!  Yeh, it's about 2 1/2 hours for me, but I love that drive. Grand Marais would be great......the earlier in May the better for me....we have way too much going on from the end of May till sometime in July.   We are going to Nebraska but will probably be the end of May.   My daughter is graduating the beginning of June so that explains the busy month of June.   Ahhhhhhhhhhh I'm starting to get tired just thinking of all I'll have to do.

So, shall we  put it out there?  Find out who's interested in a Grand Marais Get-Away for the 1st or 2nd weekend in May?   I personally could do either. Do you want to do the arranging?  I'm not as good as Sandie, but I could try.....

Here's a  bit of trivia for you--did you know that 'Grand Marais' means 'Big Swamp' in French?

I had no idea!! So do you think all the cool little shops will be opening by then??  If so we can certainly see who's interested and then check on hotels. Kathleen
