Liquid Diet

Just had a quick question...

I am doing a liquid diet this week and wondering what people use for this. I have currently been doing Slim Fast (one for lunch and breakfast and a dinner) is that ok? Do you just do liquids? I saw that some people still ate yogurt and jello, any other suggestions? Thanks Rose

Hi Rose!  I didn't have to do the liquid diet, but I know that you can do chicken broth, popsicles, etc.  Someone with experience will be able to help more, but hope it goes very well for you!

Rose, I was was on the LD for 10days prior.  SF jello, broth, suger free ice tea, I did slim fast and you can have up to 5 of those a day if your still hungry.  Also try freezing the slim fast and then using a can opener open it from the bottom of the can it's kinda like ice cream. Good luck  Troy

you should check with the program you are going through.  Their idea of liquids might be different from someone elses. Good luck!

As previously stated, I would check with your program to see what is acceptable for the LD.  With the program I was on we could only have SF carnation instant breakfast, SF popsicles,  broth/strained soups, SF Jello and decaffenated/non carbonated beverages.   Wishing you the best on your journey, Erika

Very true about which hospital you are going to, I am only allowed 3 liquid meals a day, some are allowed 5, I am only supposed to eat 3 mini meals a day after surgery, I know some are told they can eat 5...so all places are different.  So I go with the high protein boost, the chocolate is yummy.
