Weird feeling in leg???????
Since I have been home from my surgery I keep getting tingley feelings going thru my left leg. If ever of you have gone to a chiropractor and had the electric shock therapy, it's that type of feeling shooting down my leg. I have about 10 - 15 of these happen through out the day.
Has anyone else experienced this?
I have a pre op appointment with Dr. Baker on Tuesday and I for sure will be asking him about it, but was hoping someone from here might have experienced the same thing?
Thanks and I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Berry had his surgery on Dec 18th. He also had that tingley feeling going down his right leg. In fact, he ended up going to the emergency room shortly after he got home, fearing it was a blood clot. Thank heavens it was not a blood clot. They figured it was nerve damage in his cyatic........He still has it. They said it might go away and it might not! Sorry, that is not very encouraging, is it? Just wanted to let you know that you are not alone! Good luck - Lynn

I had that for two years before my surgery. I had an MRI of my spine and have discs which are bulging. This slightly pinches off the nerves to the leg. My leg still does it. Not on the right side because the discs are bulging/slipping to the side that affects the left leg. I had physical therepy for 3 months but no change. Next step was cortazone shots into the disc but they can only do 3 shots and then no more. Then you have to have disc surgery but you can have complications with that. So I'm waiting until it gets worse to do anything since I'm only 51. They say this is from some trauma 20-25 years ago and the damage has just been gradual and is to the point where the discs have gotten bad enough to cause symptoms now. I was in a car accident around that time so it may damage from that accident that is just showing up now.
But be sure you check with the doctor -- my tingling may not be the same and you could have worse or different issues with your back.

Hey Jodi-
I, too, am having that tingly sensation in my left thigh--with occasional shooting pains. I felt it shortly after surgery adn while I was still in the hospital, the surgeon told me it could be from where they strappped my legs to the OR table. I am not sure that is it, it feels like it could be more likely nerve damage of some sort. I was very concerned with blood clots, as I have a family history of it. They told me that signs of a blood clot are reddening of an area and it gets VERY hot. I am giving myself shots of Lovenox twice daily to counteract blood clots--because of the family history.
If you are really concerned, I would suggest talking to your doc as soon as you can.
Good luck and hope you feel better.

I have had sciatic trouble in the past, mostly muscular. I have had very good luck with Physician's Neck and Back Clinic in Edina. There are several around town. They are very good at diagnosing back problems. They use a mulidisplinary approach (physiatrist MD, chiropractic, physical therapy occupational therapy. I got relief from 25 years back problems with a 2x/weekly program which lasted 16 weeks.
Hi Jodi-
Sorry to hear you are going through this. It sure does sound like you have a pinched nerve or something. I had the same thing when I was pregnant with my daughter a LONG time ago. If you go to a chiropractor, I'd contact him/her and ask or talk to your doctor to see what they say.
Hope it starts to feel better really soon.
