I am home....it was so nice to sleep in my own bed last night!  Today, I am feeling pretty good...but holly cow I am gassy!  Is that normal? I have a bunch of rumbles in my tummy and I am like symphony of toots!  (TMI???  Yeah, maybe!)  Anyway....I am thinking this is probably normal, since I have recently been rearranged, but thought I'd check to see if you guys have been here before..... Thanks for any help! Jeanne

Jeanne is HOME!!!! Horray!!!  The gas is normal dear!!! It can last for a few days up to a couple of weeks. As the swelling goes down so will the gassiness go away!!!  Just keep sipping and walking and that will help alot!!! Grab a pillow and hold on!!  I am so glad everything went well for you and you are on the mend!!!!  CarolN

Gas.  Yup, it's the dirty secret of WLS.  Only it's pretty hard to KEEP it a secret, if ya know what I mean!  SOME of us never really get away from it.  Pre-WLS, I could hardly fart to save my life.  Now?  Well, let's just say one finds creative ways to disguise or release the gas.  Milk has become the culprit in my case.  I love milk, but it certainly gets the orchestra going!

YEAH Jeanne's home!  I'm glad everything went great and you are up and about.  Walking, Walking, Walking right?  Gas, oh the gas.  Never in my life did I ever pray to pass gas before.   Remember, just keep walking.

Hello Jeanne...so glad you are home again and recovering from your surgery. Yes...gas is a normal thing at your stage. I didn't have much and still don't but there are others that really do. The swelling will get better soon too. I am so glad things are going well for you. Hope to see you soon. Hugs, connie d

Oh yes, gas....I thought it would never stop...and it really hasnt....I eat a banana and get Monkey Butt. After surgery I really made a lot of noise and my son asked "Mom, did you do that?" My reply was, Yup, blowing out all the dead calories!!!  Those "fat-farts" are the loudest! Just let em rip!!! You will feel so much better!

Jeanne,

Yes, as everyone else stated, it is normal. My RNY was 1-3-08 and I still have gas. My hubby is starting to get a littled nerved with me. I told him I'm just getting him back for the past 20 years.......Glad your home and feeling good. Hope to see you at coffee again. Kelly
