My wife doesn't love cripples

After being together for 5 years, and being married for 2 years my wife has told me she fell out of love with me. She is a very physically active person who just can't imagine spending the rest of her life with someone who needs to use a wheelchair from time to time.

My heart is broken.

She moved out, after I told her to go . . .she said she wanted to leave. I'm not a consolation prize. I'm the same person I've always been, just a bit more complex.

I should have known she was self-absorbed when I was losing weight after my RNY on 4/1/04 when she started getting jealous. Not of all the attention I was starting to get, but because I weighed less than her now.

I bought myself a cat from a no-kill shelter and am giving myself a lot of patience and mercy right now.

Ladies/Gents, can you remind me that I will survive? Can you remind me why anyone bothers to fall in love? Sorry that it seems I'm only here when the worst is happening.  When I need support I come running back to my beloved fatties.

With healing wishes for all, ~Lara Lap RNY 4-1-04 450+/@goal and maintaining for 3 years

Lara, I am sorry for your pain.  Relationships ending hurt.  Find the strength in yourelf (the same one that got you to RNYand then to goal) and believe in yourself.  You will eventually be ok.  Time the time you need to grieve, heal and then put yourself into your passion.  Pets are amazing therapy.  Again, sorry for your pain.

Awww, Sweetie!  I'm so sorry that this has happened to you. It's tough when you love and it's not returned to you in kind. I don't have any words of wisdom, only ((HUGS)) and much love.  As much as it hurts now, Lara, you will survive and you will love again. Take care of yourself. ((HUG)) **SUE**

Thanks Sue!   The hugs help.  Sometimes it sucks being a survivor.  I'm grateful for it, but sometimes I think god gets bored and just throws me something new because she knows I'll find a way to survive it.   We were married in your hometown.  That makes this even more fun - since my state doesn't recognize my union I have no idea how we're going to get divorced.  To divorce in Ontario we'd have to have one of us move there for a year.   I'm doing the best I can, day by day, ~Lara

My oldest married her s/o - they bought a house together and are, for all intents and purposes, a married couple....yet MN doesn't recognize it

I often wonder what would become of their property they've accumulated together...

Even if they don't wanna call it a marriage - a union works for me...but treat it the same!  I didn't even know Ontario recognized same-sex marraige....good to know :)

sheesh

anwyay - again, so sorry hun!

Oh Lara, I'm so terribly sorry to hear about this. I asked how you were doing a month or 2 ago since we hadn't heard from you. You're such a wonderful person, I'm not sure how someone could leave like that. It will get better. *HUGE HUGS* On another note, I'm the Cat Coordinator for a local humane society in Tallahassee. I recently have taken in four 6-week old kittens as a foster mom and I know the "power of the purr". Here's a picture to make you smile. She/he will take care of you and knows you're in pain. All my love. You've always been my biggest inspiration and you're the reason I decided to have the surgery. Farrah

Hi Lara I'm so sorry you're going through this painful time. I don't have any words of wisdom for you, but just wanted to send you hugs and let you know that I'm thinking about you and hope God gives you the strength to get through this trying time.  How are you doing with your back issues? I know that back troubles are hard to deal with. Ken still has issues with his back. It sucks. Feel free to pm me is you want to chat. Hugs Peggy
