My hubby is figuring out when he should take off work for me after my surgery. My surgery will be on a Tuesday afternoon. When will I need him the most? Suggestions? Lisa Joy

Best wishes on your surgery! I needed help the first 2-3 days after being home. I had surgery on a Monday and went home on a Wednesday afternoon. I actually felt pretty good - just tired, and it was nice to have someone get my drinks and soups measured and ready for me.

Lisa, Just one day after you come home. This is just to make sure you can get around and fix things for yourself while you are off. But thats just me Troy

mine was home with me for the first week. after that I was off the narcotics and was fine fending for myself. but deffinatly the first couple of days.

Maybe Thursday when you get home and for sure on Friday if you have kidlets at home unless he/she will be at daycare. Plus, I'm off on Friday's so I'd be more than willing to come and help you on my day off! :) I was home Thursday afternoon all alone and my mom was home with me on Friday (her day off) and all weekend. I was pretty self sufficeint.

I was glad she was there on the day of surgery. She sat with me in my room while I dozed on and off (morphine pump was working). My mom and dad were both at the hospital with me on the day of surgery. Totally your choice on who you want there with you. I was thankful for the visitors I had on Tuesday afternoon and of course on Wednesday! Visitors made my day!! Colleen

Hi Hon! My DH was off for 1 1/2 weeks....but I have 3 small kiddos so I was SOOO thankful! I guess it all depends on how you tolerate things, if you have any dependants, and little things like that. Plan I'd say for at least 2-4 days after surgery just to be safe! HUGS

I have four kids who can fnd for themselves and me. Two dogs that are a pain in the butt! So......kids won't be an issure. Angela showed me the picture she has of your girls.....OMGosh how cute can kids get. Dar-ling! Lisa
