Welcome Izzy!!! Congrats on your upcoming surgery - I can't wait for you to take the ride of your life - lots of ups and downs - but SO worth the ride!!!
It's entirely normal to be nervous - if you weren't we'd think you were off your rocker. Just remind yourself everyday why you're taking this step and then read a bunch of the WOW moment posts that people put out there - you'll see that WLS is awesome and it should relax you a bit.
As far as getting through the LD - again, remind yourself of why you're doing this and why it is so important to stick to the LD. The purpose of the LD is to shrink your liver and other organs so the surgeon has more room to work around inside of you during the surgery. If your organs are still enlarged due to your overweight than it's more possible that the surgeon could nick one of those organs. You obviously DON'T want that to happen so you're going to do everything you can to shrink those organs - which means strictly adhering to the LD. It truly can be the difference between complications and not.
Plus, think of it as a test to see how well you're going to be able to handle the 8 weeks of liquid, pureed and soft food after surgery - how well you do on the LD is often an indicator of how well you will do after surgery. Set your mind to it and keep your eye on the prize: A healthier body, a smaller body and lots more activity in your life.
Good luck on your journey - I look forward to many updates as you take each step!!
