DO YOU GET DIZZY?

I'm a little over 6 months post-op and I'm experiencing some pretty bad dizzy spells.  I only get them in the evening when I stand up after I've been sitting down for awhile.  I have to sit back down until they pass.   I get all of my protein in each day, drink more than the recommended fluids and take all of my vitamins, etc. so I'm wondering what may be causing this and if anyone else has experienced these spells.

My WOOOWHOOOO's are caused from my medication for my restless leg syndrome.  Maybe it is one of your meds? You should call you doctor in case it is low blood pressure or something. Keep us posted!!! XXOO

Definitely call your doctor's office and let them know-it could be blood sugar, low blood pressure, dehydration.....or something else.  I asked about the occasional whooohooo's and one of the causes can actually be that you lose weight in your INNER EAR even, and that can affect your balance-whoda thunk?  better to be safe than sorry and be sure you discuss it with your nurse or doctor-meds, flu, ....all kinds of things could be the culprit! hugs- lynn

As the queen of dizzy (was outta work for 4 1/2 months), I would HIGHLY reccomend going to the doctor!!  It could be a list of things!  Meds, blood sugar, BP(mine was TOOO low) or something else.   Better safe then sorry!  All is good with me now and I just returned to the work field when my GB acted naughty!  Hang in there and keep us posted!

I had a bout of vertigo related to my weight loss at about 6 months post-op. It was never severe, but it did effect my walking, general balance, and caused mild nausea. I used motion-sickness patches (they couldn't find any other cause for the sudden dizziness problem) for 3 to 4 weeks and it gradually went away.  I believe it had something to do with my rapid weight loss and all the changes going on with my body. Who knows...best to check it out with your Dr.  Good luck, Julie!

Hi Julie I have been having dizzy spells since right before my surgery. Mine was due to my blood pressure was low and I was taking meds for high bp. I saw my surgeon a couple weeks ago and he got on the horn to my family doc and he cut my meds in half. Every since then I have not had another spell. I go back in to see him next week and I hope he takes me off them for good. Hope this helps you. Richard

Hey Julie!!! Sorry to hear you're having the dizzy issues.  I just went in to have all my labs tested. I've been having shaking issues and the dizzy issues too.  We think that the shaking is related to a new med I'm taking, but I wanted to be sure so I decided to get everything tested. They also took my blood pressure lying down, sitting and standing and there was a 22 point drop between lying down and sitting, so there's some concern.  Then she did an EKG and my heart rate was only 55 which isn't dangerously low - but of some concern.  I don't have any other results yet - but just wanted to let you know that you should definitely get in to see your doc - it's much better to catch anything that might be wrong before it causes any long-term damage. Let us know what you find out!!!
