The cottage has been reserved for Friday 02/29 through Sunday 03/02.  I was told by Laura (groups contact) that this resort's three-bedroom cottages do not sleep ten due to fire code.  The total price for two nights is $402.50, split between eight, comes to 104.63 per person, payable  to SweetSue.  The reservation is for the 'Obesity Help' group, with four p.m. check-in Friday, and 11:00 a.m. check-out Sunday (Check the website, as check-out may be 10:00 a.m.)  For general information, photos, and video tours, please go to www.larsmontcottages.com

It's been requested we meet Michelle G. in Duluth at Black's Grill for dinner Saturday evening.  Other individuals and couples staying at the resort are definitely encouraged to join in on this as well.

It would be advantageous for the eight of us to plan meals prior to arriving at the resort.  Missy, Brea, Lori P, Laurie, Deb M3, Phyllis, and SweetSue: who has suggestions? My experience with cabin/cottage sharing was to break up( we eight) into (four) teams of two, each team responsible for purchase and preparation of one meal:  Friday evening dinner, Saturday breakfast, Saturday lunch, (extended group going out to Black's Grill for dinner) then Sunday breakfast.  Does everyone eat steak?  For example, I could bring steaks and Edamame for Friday's dinner. Please post  your food selections and preferences for the planning.  I plan on purchasing food from Cub before leaving, although there is a grocery store in Two Harbors, just four miles north of the resort.  Ideas:  chili, spaghetti, fish, egg bake or dish, veggies, fruit , etc.  Please respond with your ideas and suggestions so that once we arrive, we may focus on fun, not last-minute food/meal stressors.  Should we each bring our own beverages?  Any additional comments, questions, and/or suggestions?  Let us all know here and see what we all come up with. NOTE:  I have asthma and allergies, and am letting you know that perfumes and scented lotions trigger embarrassing hacking trying to breathe, even with taking allergy meds and using inhalers. Anyone else got an embarrassing revelation?  Thank you so much, and this is getting more and more exciting!  Have a 'terrifc Tuesday' and stay warm!  Hugs galore, Patti

Oh, this is going to be soooo cool!  Thanks , Patti and Sandie for doing the background work! I have a recipe for a breakfast casserole that gets everything done at one time, so all can feast together, instead of waiting. It's high protein--like bacon and eggs and french toast all in one pan. How would this do, for like Saturday or Sunday brunch? Can't wait to see what else transpires! ((HUG)) **SUE**

Hey Sue!  Your breakfast bake sounds wonderful, although for myself personally would prefer from-scratch ham/brocolli/cheese quiche.  I'm very strict with myself about bread, bacon, and pasta.  I tend to over-do things, and can see myself making and freezing this quiche and baking it up there.  Wish I could get everyone set up on a chat forum soon....or a twenty-way phone call to get all our thoughts together!  Oh duh, I'll just set up a new posting with recaps, rather than the individual replies--so go check that out, though give me time here to get all the info concisely together ...this is all getting way exciting, huh?  And I goofed on the math, and your calculations are correct.  And we'll get all the $$ details squared away when we all meet.  And I plan on giving you cash for my portion, although can pay more if necessary.  More soon.....Hugs galore and more and more. (hugs) ..Patti

I believe it's $402.50 each night or $805 for both nights, divided by 8= $100.63 EACH for the weekend.  This includes taxes.  That's for this HUGE honkin' resort cabin that sleeps 8. Go on-site and see the place.! It's beautiful!

That makes sense.  I am only going for one night though.  Can I still go or should I give my spot to someone who will go both nights?  I cant get away from the kid for 2 nights!  My mom would kill me! LOL!

It'd be so fun if you could wrangle an extra night! However,  you just pay for what you use--someone will pick up the slack. Maybe Sandie will want to party with the gals?!

Hi sweet Missy, I was having problems posting last night, although the gist of what I'd wanted to contact you about, was that we'd love to have you join us for however long you're able to leave your mom with the kids.  Firstly, please take care of yourself;  very sorry to learn of your migraine situation, and am hoping and praying for healing.  I don't get migraines, although to get MS-related head pain where it feels like a cement brick has been catapulted into my forehead, and the only way to make it subside is to take liquid Tylenol and actually go to bed and sleep for several hours, then it's gone.  The human body is amazingly miraculous, although how frustrating when major pain and related side-effects (like vision) appear.  Please do not hesitate contacting your doctor about the vision, to ensure it is indeed related to the migraine, and not something else, especially if this had not happened before.  Am sending heartfelt prayers for your recovery, and gentle, gentle hugs as you take care of you.  Am so looking forward to meeting you and Brea at Larsmont Cottages the 29th through March 2nd, and please come for as little or as long as works into your schedules.  It will be just wonderful.  And, we're planning on dining at Black Woods Grill that Saturday night, although specific details will be posted within the week.  Take care of you hon!
