What's with...

some words being **** out?   Do we have a bunch of folks who have 'potty-mouth' or is this site just wonky? I'm betting on the site being wonky! Curious minds want to know...

OH added a profanity filter and it interprets some words that aren't as profanity LOL

sooo you can go into your user settings and at the very bottom, your last option is about adult content!

It would even take groupings of words to "create" the "bad" words...I don't remember exactly what the phrase was, but if I remember it was "...mu*****ommon..." and it looked like "...mu*****ommon...".  Took me a while to figure out that they blocked out "*****", but there were spaces in there.....weird! I changed my user settings to allow adult content, and haven't seen anything that has been vulgar on here at all....

Too funny...so what you are seeing on here is what I saw before, but you still don't know what I wrote, because it is being blocked?   Too Funny!!!!!

This OH profanity filter is driving me nuts.  I was ranting about it on another post I did.  I couldn't say..."just" and "watch" together without part of it getting bleeped.  Obviously the filter isn't too high tech if normal language is being bleeped out.  It's not just juvenile, it's annoying because sometimes I can't easily figure out what the person is saying. I'm glad that there's a way to put an end to it by changing settings to allow adult content.  Too bad OH didn't bother to mention that to the users.  At least I didn't see that. It's very rare I've seen much profanity on this site, I hear worse at work or at the grocery store - so I think this is pretty unnecessary.  Too bad we have to be so politically correct....guess free speech isn't really free when I don't run the website.  So until I do...best to keep my pie-hole shut!
