Hi Lisa Joy...I too am so glad that you decided to give the cpap another try. I don't have one but my sister does. She had problems at first and hated it. Now she likes it and sleeps much more restful. For me a good man would do the same thing...hahahahha!!! Hugs, connie d

I'm glad you gave it another try.  Believe me in a few months you'll be telling us how you can't sleep without your machine.    I often get the mostiture thing happen too and just turn the dial down like someone else said.  I wanted to give you another tip too make sure you put fresh water in the tank each night during the winter.  I don't know if this has happened to anyone else but the other day I thought I had water in my tank and had the dial turning full blast and I think I cooked my poor little nose.  I woke up the next day sneezing and running nose the entire day from it being so dry.    It was very painful too.

I had the same problem-for me it's a cold winter bedroom.  The CPAP people told me to put the hose under my covers and that usually does it.  Or, my mother knit me a cute little pink tube to cover the hose and that solves it too.   After I lost alot of weight the machine was set too high for me so the medical equipment company exchanged the top of my machine for an auto adjust model-it automatically adjusts to the amount of air I need at any given time and it has really worked well for me.  Don't think I'm quite ready to not use it, but I guess I prefer breathing and living to the alternative!   Give it time, it grows on you and the result is so wonderful because you get great sleep and feel wonderful!  Good luck to you!

All things that have worked for me have been said...turning down the humidifier, putting socks on the tubing or putting it under your covers. Another idea that helped me is to LOWER the whole machine to the floor ( I use a step stool next to my bed) so that any condensation will cllect in the tubing and NOT in your mask. Once in a great while the gurgling in the hose will wake me, but I just lift the hose in my semi-sleep state and the collected water falls back into the tank and I fall right back to sleep.  My sleep apnea RAPIDLY improved as I lost weight and I have a self-adjusting  (diagnostic) CPAP that is on the lowest setting. I'm actually afraid to stop using it because it was SO helpful to me! I also am not in a hurry for yet another sleep latency test.

Hope some of these ideas will help you...good luck Lisa Joy!
