Home from the hospital

I am home from the hospital. Surgery on Monday went very well!!! I was so nervous on Sunday night. I really need to thank all of you for calming my nerves. I actually slept a little bit on Sunday night too!  Of course going in nobody really knows to expect, but it was not half as bad as I expected. The pain was fairly minimal and the incisions are very small.  I know, I know,  the real work is starting now. I feel like I have this new little being inside of my belly. It really is an amazing thing! I'm not really sure how he is going to react to things. So far not a whole lot of challenges. I have just been testing him with 4 or 5 bites at a time. There is definitely not a bit of hunger. I haven't gotten on a scale yet. I am going to  try very hard to only step on one once a week.  I haven't figured out the signature stuff yet. I need to add the little ticker.  I hope to make the Coffee Talk on the 23rd in Maple Grove.  I can't wait to meet you all! Meridee

Dr. Drew is my surgeon too.

You and I actually have alot in common! You are starting at exactly the same point number wise that I started at 2 and a half weeks ago. Your goal is also exactly the same as mine. I started at 296 and hope to go to exactly half, 148. Dr. Drew was fabulous as a surgeon. I would highly recommend him to anyone.  I hope to meet you one day!! 

He signed your belly?  What's up with that?

We will work through this together --getting to goal!  I will be watching for your ticker.

Yup, he came in about 6:30 am while I was still awake and put his initals on my belly. They are actually still kind of there. I can't get it to wash off. He said it's hospital policy, they need to be sure he's doing the right surgery on the right person.

It looks like you're doing a fabulous job losing weight before it all begins. That was hard for me. I kept going up before I started the liquid diet. The liquid diet took off 22 pounds.

Keep up the great work!!  

Congrats on a successful surgery!  Definitely don't step on the scale anytime soon - you're pumped full of liquids and chances are you'll have gained, not lost.  Give it at least 2 weeks before finding the scale or you might be disappointed. Take care!

OMG...Meridee...I work with your MOM!!! I didn't realize you were on OH. YAY! I asked Jackie how you were doing yesterday - she is so proud of you! I'm glad you are doing so well. And, she told us Dr. Drew signed your belly?! How funny. Congratulations on your surgery, I am so happy for you! Many good things are in store for you.

It is great to meet you Amy! Thanks for the kind words! My Mom was actually here all day today watching over me. I am very lucky to have her.  Good Luck on your journey as well.
