Back to Work
I went back to work yesterday a week early and boy am I exhausted and actually my stomach muscles are sore. I was very surprised by how exhausted I am but good thing is I have flexibility in my schedule and I'm able to work from home if need be.
Is it normal to be a little bummed out that my co-workers didn't really say anything about the 30+ lbs I've lost while away? I know its a tricky thing in the past when I knew people who had surgery recently I wasn't sure how to say something and making sure it wouldn't be taken the wrong way.
The funny thing I find is everyone keeps asking me if I have had a hair cut, which I haven't but it must be there way of noticing something is different.

Not sure if your co-workers know that you had surgery or not, it sounds like maybe they don't. The "haircut" question is very common at this stage - they know something is different, but 30 pounds on a big person doesn't scream weight loss. give it a few more weeks and then you'll be sick of hearing them say "OMG, you've lost weight!"
Good job going back to work early - but make sure to get your rest - exhaustion can hit you in the hinder if you're not careful!
Thats so funny that you say that! It just cracked me up right after my surgery ( I didn't tell very many ppl I'd had WLS) But they kept asking if I'd cut my hair that was waist length... I choped like 12 inches off it 3 weeks prior but it wasn't until the weight started showing that it was coming off that they noticed my hair!

Being PC is a big deal where I work - I lost WAY more than 30 lbs before anyone said anything - it was more like 60! And in fact, there are a couple of people who have still not said anything for one reason or another. I don't get upset about it. Some people realize it's almost as rude to comment on weight lost as it would be to comment on weight gained.
I DID have the hair-cut comment tho, from a neighbor woman - she kept LOOKING and LOOKING, and finally said - "wow, Darla - that new haircut is VERY SLIMMING to your face!!!" Uh.... no new haircut, but I HAD lost 100# at that point.... I WANTED to say - "Thanks, but - what does it do for my A**??"
You just can't fix stupid. Don't rely on others to validate your weight loss, Kathy. Just stay in tune with how your clothes fit. Take pictures every month - because you won't really be able to see it in yourself until you hold those pictures side-by-side.
Imperfect does not = unsuccessful

See, Darla, THIS is why I love you!
TOO FUNNY!
