Hello All- I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I have been doing alot of reading on this board for the last couple of weeks. I really would like to get involved in the networking and meeting of everyone at your coffee sessions. My surgery date is tomorrow and I am getting NERVOUS! I know everything will be fine, but the butterflies are still flying.  It has been such a long exciting road getting here, such a rollercoaster ride.  Fortunately, I have a great support system, and many thing to be thankul for.  I live in the Otsego area. If anyone can explain exactly how the get togethers work, ie how often? where? who is in charge? what do I need to do to sign up? I would love to get involved.  I started 2 weeks ago at 296, I am currently about 275 and I hope to be around 150 a year or two from now.  Meridee

Meridee, First of all, HELLO!!!!  You joined the right board.  This group of people are the most accepting, helpful, caring group.  You will find support for more than just the WLS on this board, plus you will feel completely comfortable asking those TMI and personal questions (nothing is too TMI for this group!! ) Secondly, congratulations on your surgery tomorrow.  It's normal to be nervous.  This is a huge undertaking that will change your life forever.  You will have to make sacrifices but you will gain health and so much more than the food you give up. Keep us posted on how your surgery goes and how you are doing.  The most important tip I can give you is to follow your doctor and nuts orders to the T, sip LOTS of water and walk, walk, walk. Here's looking forward to seeing you on the loser's bench!! Debi

Welcome to the Boards!!!  I believe there is a Maple Grove group which would be close for you.

The nerves -- SOOOO TOTALLY NORMAL!!!  But once you get to the hospital it will all go away -- restful and peaceful surgery -- keep repeating..... Keep us posted and you are in my prayers for an uneventful surgery and fast healing!!!..... XXOO

Fitness is not about age or a size -- it's really about an attitude and life style!!!
Life is not measured by the number of breathes we take, but by the moments that take our breathe away~~

Hi Meridee, I'm excited for you.  In just the past week I have learned a lot from this board, the most important being that there are so many others out there just like me. I have not made it to a coffee yet, but I think there is one in Eden Prairie, next Saturday (9am) Caribou, that I should be able to make it to.  I think that the different places are posted the week before.  I can't wait to meet all these lovely new friends. Best of luck tomorrow, you are in my prayers. Sandy

First off Welcome, Second Oh how wonderful you must feel, only one more night and you are on your way to a new life. By the way Congrats on the weight loss that you have already shed. That must just be a awsome feeling. I lost some before the surgery but not as much as you have. WOW I will say a little prayer for you and yours. Please when you feel up to it come back to the board we are truly a family here. Even if we get lost sometimes. Best of Luck

Hi Meridee, and welcome to this board!  The folks are WONDERFUL! Being nervous is normal.  Be assured that we've all been there, done that! My prayers that all goes well for you tomorrow, and that you have an uneventful recovery! And congrats on a job well done!  Losing those lbs will help the surgeon   maneuver around in your tummy!  God bless you tomorrow! ((HUG)) **SUE**

Welcome Meridee!  Best wishes for a speedy recovery for your surgery.  I have Dr. Drew as my surgeon too.

This place rocks for information and get togethers.
