Any fellas on here?
lap band is invasive as all surgeries are. each person needs to discuss with their dr which option is best for them how much weight needs to be lost and the lifestyle changes needed for the surgery to benefit them long term. each person makes the surgery choice that suits them best but no surgery is the "best for everyone" many people here have chosen the RNY with extreme sucess. Others have chosen the lap band and had sucess with that. each surgery carries different sets of complication risks, but the benefits remain. Major weight loss with different health issues being resolved. Whatever surgery you choose, good luck in your journey.
Hi Nicole,
Thank you for your post.
It's already been a long journey! I'm just a pup at 27, but it feels like I have already lived in this body for way too long. I have always been overweight. Even looking back at pictures from when I was a child, you could see it coming on at around age 5. I have tried every diet known to man with no success. I have always been fairly athletic and active, but it just doesn't seem like enough. I never lose the weight that I want to.
It's pretty easy to get caught up in all the success stories of the various methods of weight loss surgery.
Being a guy, it's pretty hard to admit that I need help with anything - much less controlling myself in a way that I can't do directly. With my wife's help, I have moved beyond that hurdle. I have an appointment with the doctor this week to go over my options.
I will keep everybody informed!
Thanks,
Dustin
Hi guys did I here calling all men!!!! Linda love your pic keep it up. Well Dustin I had my RNY a month ago. I would not have changed my decision for the world. I was looking for fast results and a life changing experience. Either one is invasive like before mentioned, it all depends on how dedicated you can be to change your life. Me and my buddy Troy had our surgeries on the same day and are having great rewards at this time.
Take care all Richard
