Not dumping?

Has anyone tested themselves and found they don't dump?  I had about 3/4 of a very large muffin the other day, and the 1st ingrediant was sugar, I thought for sure I would get sick but nothing happened. I know everyone is different and will react different, but I was hoping I would get sick and didn't so now what happens? I'm worried, like a "monster" could get out of control.

I don't dump... much.  Only 2 times in 9 months.  Haven't had 3/4 of a muffin, but I did allow myself several small tastes of several treats at Christmas time, thought SURE I would dump, but didn't.  Here's my advice.  BE STRONGER THAN THE MONSTER.  WANT success SO BADLY that you won't allow yourself to sabotage your weight loss!!!  You've done SO INCREDIBLY WELL, Laura - stay on the road to success!   Yes, it's normal, human behavior to test ourselves.  But if the muffin was a test and you didn't dump, well, did you pass, or fail that test?  I mean, was that a good thing or a bad thing?  IT'S A BAD THING!  You don't dump.  OR at least you DIDN'T THAT TIME.  It does NOT mean you never will.  Now you know you're probably not going to be a big dumper.  Don't let that tell you to eat more evil things!  Let that tell you that you have to be STRONGER THAN YOUR URGES!!! (hehehe... I said "big dumper"  )

I have decided not to test things.  I want to be afraid of dumping!  That way I am never tempted to eat something I know I shouldnt.  I have a feeling if I did find out that I was not a "dumper" then I would just eat!  LOL!!  Im such a dork I know! LOL!  But I have heard that one day you might not dump on something and the next day you might.  THats scary too!

Hijack....... Well if you are a dork then so am I! I don't test those waters either. I do not want to head down that road ever again!! This tool is working and I am not going to take chances on messing it up! Hugs, connie d

Everyone is so different... A muffin was my very first dump...ugh...haven't been back since.  And pre-op I referred to myself as the muffin-man... Not everything makes me dump, it is so completely random.  I can eat a handful of M&M's without a problem.  But 1/2 cup of sweetend cereal (no flames please)...I'll be sick for an hour!   I can do butter in moderation, but not cream AT ALL!  Not even half/half.... Too much carbs in any form and I have mild dumping symptoms (excessive tiredness to the point I can barely keep my head up).  I wish I dumped on more items too, though I hate saying it, cause the feeling sucks!  But it also reminds me why I had this surgery.  You will get to the point where you will get more adventerous, and in all likelyhood, you will find that you do dump (even mildly...know the signs!).  The monster will no doubt rear it's ugly head more than 1 time during your journey...but the more you start to love yourself, the less control the monster has...

Oh believe me, everyone is different. I won't dump on a muffin, but 2 spoonfuls of ice cream and I do. Everyone is different and every dumping is different too. 1. Running to the bathroom as fast as you can before you load your pants. 2. Heart racing, sweats and then feeling VERY tired. 3. Blood sugar crashing like a diabetic that took too much meds and then you have to balance it out. 4. Lower intestinal cramping 5. ETC.... So don't think that just because you didn't dash to the bathroom that you don't dump. Dumping is bad for you in any form.

I've found out that sometimes I dump, and sometimes I don't.  (And I'll be 3 years out in May.) For me, there's no rhyme or reason to dumping--which is a darn good reason not to take chances with junk! (Which I do, so I get what I deserve....) Like Darla said---be stronger than the monster!  Don't push your limits! Have a great weekend! (((HUG))) **SUE**

Laura be very careful....you just may dump next time. You really don't want to head down the road of trying things to see if you dump. It could get you in trouble. This is just my opinion of course. I have never dumped but then I don't push the envelope and try things I shouldn't have anyway. I never want to head back in the direction I came from. I am all about learning new and keeping good eating habits.  Hugs, connie d

hey there I have not yet dumped and don't plan on it.  I really watch my sugar nd fat intake .  I still am not hungry to eat I eat my three meals a day and maybe a sf dove choc the size of a nickle.  I have tried many different things and have not gotten sick.  i consider myself way lucky not to have had any problems thus far.  Take care, Hugs Marsha
