OT: Dating

Well, I finally made the decision to get out there and start dating.  I had been saying that I was going to wait until I was close to my goal weight to start, but I figured I really want someone who likes me for me not someone who likes me because I am skinny.  So, last night I signed myself up for 3 months on catholicsingles.com.  I am excited and nervous all at the same time because it has been so long since I have dated anyone and that really wasn't even real dating.  If I get any dates I will definately let everyone know.

GOOD LUCK, CHICKY BABY!!!!  The whole dating thing is so exciting!!  For an old married lady like me - I haven't felt those butterflies since - well, since the FIRST George Bush was in the White House!!!

Good for you.....I hope you find what who you are looking for and that he is good to you. I was asked on two dates in the last 10 days and had to call and cancel both because of family issues. Maybe I will try it again. Hugs, connie d

Yeah for you!   I finally got 'out there' too!  And I met someone who, even though I'm no where near even a size 12 yet!, tells me all the time how attractive I am and compliments me! There is someone out there for everyone! And it is a great feeling when you find them!  Remember, though, you have to kiss a lot of frogs, so to speak, before you find your prince!!!! Good luck and keep us posted!!!

How exciting! It has been a long time since I did the whole dating thing. The only advice I can give you is enjoy the ride while you can. Good Luck and have fun.

For exciting!  I just re-entered the dating world after an almost 3 year hiatus.  Ok, it was only one date, and I chose not to pursue it any further.  But I did have a good time, and I remembered what it was like to feel special, and desired.  Definitely gave me a confidence boost.  Good for you at taking this step, and good luck!  It may be a while until my next date (by my choice), but some of the fear is gone.

Congrats to you.   I am ready to start dating again, but have no idea how to meet single guys where i am - I live in the middle of nowhere pretty much.  You'll have to let us know how this online dating thing goes.  It's kind of scary to me, maybe I'm just old fashioned and need to get with the times!!

I give you gals a whole lot of credit for having the nerve to go online dating. I'm thinking once I'm done with university in May (God willing) that it might be time to shake the bushes! Of course, being the shy person that I am, I think it'd be whole lot easier if God just threw Mr  Right #2 literally in my lap. Sure would be a lot less hassle! Let us know  how it works out!
