It was just announced on Kare 11 that Mitt Romney has quit the presidential race.  After attending the caucus on Tuesday night I know there was alot of people backing him. Just wanted to let those of you at work with no tv the latest hot off the press election news.

I don't understand this - I thought he did well on Tuesday?  Maybe I'm wrong (not much time for TV these days).  Why would he suddenly back out?  Did someone find a skeleton in his closet?

Kare 11 said he quit, CNN says he's suspended his campaign.  He said it's for the party and the country.  Actually he said alot of things but I managed to miss it by staying on 11 instead of going right to CNN.  He also mentioned something about the war.  He said he wants to live for another day so I think he'll run again in the election after this one.  The news people mentioned how much of his own money he has put into the campaign and it's ALOT!  If I hear any solid reason I'll let you know, CNN is back to talking about the tornados now.

From Kare 11.com: "McCain prevailed in most of the Super Tuesday states, moving closer to the numbers needed to officially win the nomination. Overall, McCain led with 707 delegates, to 294 for Romney and 195 for Huckabee. It takes 1,191 to win the nomination at this summer's convention in St. Paul, Minn." I guess he felt he wasn't going to make enough of an impact.

So if it isn't Tim Pawlenty -- I guess we know who McCain's running mate will be!!!

Actually, since both McCain and Romney lost most of the southern states, I think McCain will pick a popular southern conservative...like gov. Crist of florida of Gov. Barber from Mississippi.  Just my humble opinion.
