Overnight at the Baker Lodge
Okay, I figured it's time for a reminder of the overnight planned for the Baker Near Wilderness Settlement!
March 29-30 are the dates for a casual overnight at a BEAUTIFUL facility near Maple Plain - I'll post the link to the website here and let you all explore for yourselves...

I have already made the reservation, so the place is ALL OURS! Currently, there are 15 people signed up, which pretty much covers the minimum cost of the place - but there is room for 64! So if you are interested, be sure to check out the website. If you decide you could use a night away from your same-ol' same-ol' with your OH family... let me know! The cost for now, is $25 per person. I'm anticipating that several more of you will sign on (hopefully LOTS more!!!) - which means that $25 will probably cover lodging AND family-style meals! You'll need to bring a sleeping bag / bedroll, pillow and your personal items for a one night stay, and we can just chat, drink mass quantities of coffee, go for hikes in the woods, knit, sleep, play cards, bird-watch, whatever! A staff person will be on-site and we can request whatever kind of program we want with them - maple syruping? A night hike? Native American crafts? The website will give you a big list of possibilities!
Any questions? PM me.
Wanna sign up? PM me.
Wanna know how much fun you'll have if you don't bring warm enough stuff to sleep in? PM Tracy.

Hey Darla, I overlooked sending the $25.00 check, and will get that in the mail right now. Sheesh, I'm so much better than that! And this 'roughing it' will very fun and interesting! Whooie Hooie! Thank you so much for organizing this. Wow, with the Duluth getaway this month, the Baker Lodge in March, we'll have to proceed with an over-nighter every month! Hmmmmmmmm.......Hugs galore, Patti
Never let your memories be greater than your dreams.
The lodge is totally "tricked out" - full restaurant type kitchen, nice big fireplace, runnin' water & flushin' toilets, too! (No showers, tho...)
The cabins - no electricity, but a real nice wood burning stove in each that keeps those babies NICE & TOASTY! Even in the winter!!! Each cabin has a rechargeable lantern (they keep 'em charging in the lodge). It's really nice, as cushy as you can get "roughing it"!
And when this was first put together a few months ago, the consensus was - just us, no families. Which I know makes it harder for some to get away, but that was the vote. No spouses, no kidlets. And no pets allowed, by facility rules.
