I had an obstructed bowel last June and ended up in the hospital for 5 days, until it worked itself out (no surgery).  Darla is right, you can't ignore the pain and anyone in their right mind would eventually know that something is wrong.  I was told it could have occurred because of abdominal surgery, or not.  I choose to think not, LOL   Anyhow, don't go worrying about what might happen, because there are so many "what-ifs" that you will make yourself crazy (look what happened to me. Oh wait, I was already crazy). Take seriously what the doctor tells you could happen, but as far as anything more far reaching, take life as it comes.

If you don't already have it, I heartily recommend the book "WLS for Dummies."  I still get it out on occasion for some helpful advice.

Too funny....I just bought that book last night.  :O)    It is filled with good info.  I even saw the part about obstructed bowel.  Thanks everyone.  I'm so over that worry now.  :O)
