I am with everyone else here...it is your time to take a break from cooking. I like the idea of bringing in the recipes and letting who ever decide what they want to make.  Rest an relax.....only a few more days and you will be on the Losers Bench!! Hugs, connie d

I just have to say that I agree with the rest of them -  forget the chips and salsa, bring in recipes for their favorite dishes and let them make them.... I did like your idea of bringing Boost for them all, so they could see what you are doing for 2 weeks...that might make them think a little bit more about what they are pressuring you to do....bring it in before the potluck so they can all get a little taste of what you have to do for 2 weeks.  Stand your ground, girl...you are definately worth it!

I'd call in sick and say I had anal-glocoma. Which means that you couldn't see your butt going to work that day. So what would they do if you didn't work there? They be fine if you bring chips and salsa. And if that isn't good enough for them too bad then they can have nothing. I think it's pretty crummy and selfish of them to think you should cook just for them.

Okay, my head went two ways on this.  One way - like all the others.  SCREW 'EM!  They're spoiled with your cooking.  Heck, your cooking may be the very reason they FOUND a reason to have a potluck in the first place!!!  So if you DON'T want to bring anything, TELL them you won't be, and DON'T!  They'll learn not to mess with you - to take you at your word and nothing less! But..... my other thought?  Make something FABULOUS for them!  Do it up big, whatever that would be for you - bring it in, and let 'em all eat it!  DECIDE YOU ARE STRONGER THAN THE POTLUCK!  TEST YOUR RESOLVE to be STRONG!!!!  Just think how PROUD you'd feel to do that and WIN against the evil food monster?  And just think how THEY would all marvel at your determination to WIN at this whole WLS ride??!!     just a thought....

Kill 'em with kindness!  Not a bad plan either!  I like the idea making it about what I CAN do, rahter than what I CAN'T!  You are one smart (very high in protein and low in sugar) cookie!  LOL. Thanks!

I hear you. I LOVE to bake goodies and to cook and show off my skills.... BUT when you first start out you do NOT want to do this. I'm 3 years out and I have no problem cooking a feast knowing I'm only sampling it. But I think I would have cried at first. Also, it would take a LARGE amount of self control not to cheat. Don't let them bully you, tell them no. They will survive.
