well, i am from wisconsin. hasn't everyone been a cheese cleaner? i worked in a cheese factory in monroe, wi. i would take 40# blocks of cheese and clean the dirt and mold off it and send it out on a line to be chunked and/or sliced. it was a summer job that kept me motivated to go back to college each year!!

Dirt and mold??? I'm not sure I'll ever eat cheese again.... Okay, that's a lie, I know I'll eat cheese again. But I'll probaby be looking at the specs in my pepperjack a bit closer from now on...

You grew up in Amery? I grew up (and live again) in St Croix Falls, but my parents grew up in Amery, and I have several relatives that still live there...I also work/volunteer at Lake Wapogassette (sp??) Bible Camp... Small world, huh?

Cool! I loved camp, and went to Fawn-Doe-Rosa every chance I got! (got to play with baby raccoons and even a 6 week old cougar cub that summer!) One of my favorite memories of my summer in Amery - there was a WICKED BAD storm that summer, power was out on the island for nearly 4 days! I had to take the chainsaws in to town to be sharpened, and as I was driving through town with all the branches and leaves all over the road, I remember driving by the local power company, seeing a sign that said "Plant Crossing". It was funny as all get out!!!
