Debbie, Hang in there it does get better just like the rest of them said.  Try the SF POP's they seem too have a sweet taste and sometimes control my cravings for food. Hugs Troy

I hear it is a lot different with the lap band because you still get the hunger feeling. Hang in there! Remember the goal at the end of the road and you will do this!!! Lori

Thanks for the encouragement! I just had a jello and that tastes good too. Now that it's past 7 PM, all will be well until tomorrow. Fortunately, I was never an evening/ night time eater.  With the lap band, there may be hunger after the surgical swelling has lessened until the band is filled to just the correct spot. My first fill is  6 weeks post op. But I'm sure even getting to mushies will be like heaven. Heck, even getting to full liquids (soup) will be nice.

I know how difficult it is to be on only liquids for what seems like forever. Hang in there. It will get better. Take it slow as you progress through the different food stages.  Take Care hope you are feeling well!

God Bless, Angela

Complain away girl - I think the first month after surgery is the worst.  You're limited on what you can eat.  The head hunger is at its worst - it sucks.  However, it'll go faster than you think and then when you do get to eat, the taste of "real" food will have never tasted so good! Hang in there!

Believe me I so know what you are going through.  I had surgery the day after you and I'm obsessed with food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   I know this will pass but its so hard.  I want to eat everything and anything but yet I know i'm not hungry nor can I have the food I want.   I can't stop looking up receipes to make once I'm able to start having food (I have 35 pages of receipes).   I'm even planning to go back to work a week early (if I get dr approval on Friday) to keep my brain busy.  No one wants to talk to me because I just talk about food.  I even want things I use to hate like beans and fish!! My mom is an addiction counselor and a former addict so I asked her for some adivce and she just says to keep busy.  I believe if people out there can beat their drug addictions and I can beat this food addiction.  Its not like I will never get to eat again its just a matter of time and making better choices  Its so hard at times but I've been working on some hobbies I enjoy like scrapbooking and other crafts.   That has helped.  Watching TV is the worst since every other commerical is food.  I'm going to a movie this afternoon to get out of the house it will be a challenge since I can't have popcorn or diet coke.  Hang in there we will get pass this phase and things will get better!
