Hi all Here is an update on my 5 day pouch test....... This is actually going to be my Day 1.   I really, really struggled with the items you can eat on day 1.  I was not able to stick it out the whole day. So, I kicked myself in the butt.....and said, YOU CAN DO THIS. I knew the first day would be tough because it's such a drastic change. But, I am doing MUCH better today and am having today be my day 1. I made the recipe for the ham and cheese soup, which is wonderful!!!!  I am drinking my Low Carb Slim Fast, sugar free hot chocolate, eating my soup, sugar free pudding.......and of course the water. It is tough for me because I don't work, and am at home all day with the food........so the temptation of having the cupboards and refridgerator  filled with food is really tough. Thanks for your encouragement. It's what really helped me say YOU CAN DO THIS!!!! Off to have more Slim-Fast...... Hugs Peggy

Peggy  Just fight to get through the first two days and I promise it will get better for you. I could hardly make it through the second day but I did it and I actually did it twice. Once before vacation and once after and Farah is right it was easier the first time. Now I stay away from the bad carbs and limit myself to the good ones. Good luck and here's wishing you continued success Jim

Hi Jim Thanks for the words of encouragement. I'm so glad this process helped you. It gives me hope that it will work for me as well. I still think about you alot......especially when I eat Cheez-It's.   I remember you always saying  EVIL CHEEZ-ITS.   LOL Peggy

Peggy hopefully today will get better for you! I coulldn't agree more and I have noticed since I stoped drinking Diet soda that I am not as hungry and craving the wrong foods so I think Dr I was right when he said that the properties in Diet pop make you hungry! I think of all the young people tht I work with and how they guzzle Mountian Dew like its water and wonder how many of these people are going to have problems with obesity and Diabetes when they get to be our age. I can see why they say these two issues will be epidemic in 20 years. Kepp hanging in there and Remember No CHEEZ-ITS! I miss mine also especially the white cheddar ones but I would rather been thin and not struggling then enjoying them. It's all about the choices riight Peggy? How many times did you say that at Renewal???? Have a great day Jim

Hi Peggy, I'm still too scared to do this...so my hat is off to everyone who has.  I'm sure most of us old-timers could stand a push of the re-set button. So CONGRATS to you and Jim and Farrah...and all of those before me who have done the 5 day re-set.  I will follow....but not sure when.  I admit I'm a weenie still and can't give up the sugar I can tolerate.  Let's see what I say after my Dr appt tomorrow and she sees my weight.  Ouch!! YOU CAN DO IT!!! Keep on...keeping on.

Hi Peggy I'm seeing the end of day two. Heading to aerobics class soon. I was sure when I went to bed last night that I would not do a second day. The protien shakes taste nasty to me. I guzzle them down. I have made it through another day. Never thought I'd look froward to cottage cheese and tuna. (although I love both and eat them often) I appreciate your post and the response of Jim and Farrah. It will/does feel good to tame the carb monster. The support helps. Take care..........keep us posted!! Pat
