On Oprah right now...

It's better to be imperfectly happy than perfectly unhappy.
Makes me glad I have a job that doesn't allow me to watch daytime tv. Yes, Oprah has used her celebrity and income for many good causes. But she is human, not some kind of prophet.
I have a daughter who may very well one day need WLS. Do I want her to have it now, at age 15? Absolutely not. Do I want her to go through her teens and 20's obese? Absolutely not. Will I encourage her to lose weight by modifying her eating habits and exercise? I already am. If she yo-yo's and reaches a point of desperation like I did, will I support WLS? Damn straight I will! It has saved my life, it has enhanced my life in ways I didn't expect, and if I can help give her that before SHE'S 45? What's a mother for? Shame on Oprah for not presenting a balanced view of WLS.
Imperfect does not = unsuccessful
Hey, Sabrina!! You look great and 132# down.. YOU GO, GRRL! I saw the show too and while I found the info interesting, it was presented w/ a bias against WLS..typical Oprah. Here's my take: Oprah can't keep her weight off (dang, I was disappointed in seeing her current size, hadn'****ched in a long time..) and she hasn't made the personal decision that she can't control her own weight. Therefore, no one else should control their weight either.. Misery loves company. Glad I left that club mentally a long time ago! Best wishes all!
